One series at a time. One game at a time.

This thread was made before the playoffs started anyways.

All the more reason that it is bad news.

Words on a message board have nothing to do with how the team will (or will not) perform.

Famous last words. In sports you don't tempt the gods. That is a rule that is as old as sports themselves.

It was a pure hypothetical situation.

This thread could have been made for any team around, at any given moment.

All this superstition is bullshit anyways, Crosby and the Pittsburgh team touched the Prince of Wales trophy last year, they won the cup. The year before they didn't win after not touching it. It's not superstition at all, it's just the way you play the game.

It's still game two of a 7 game series, this team has plenty of hockey to go, we are guaranteed 3 more games out of 5 right now. Every series is tied at 1-1 right now of the teams who played 2 games so far.

Hey, now there's an idea.............

I am going to make my way around the NHL's forums....

Thread titles will go something like this:

If the PENGUINS won the Cup...
If the DEVILS won the Cup...
If the CAPS won the Cup...
If the FLYERS won the Cup...

and so on and so on.

Fans around the league will be throwing holy water at their computers!

As much as I would like to see the Sabres win the cup their a few years away. They need at least two quality offense players and another stud on defense. Since the Sabres won't trade for any you just have to hope they can draft a couple of these players especially some skilled offensive players with some size.

Unfortunately when you talk about "years" you have to also consider that everything continues to change. If the Sabres finally address THAT problem, another one may have developed.

In a couple years, Miller may not be at his best. Then what?

then I guess the Sabres will never win a cup, b/c they will always be trying to fix holes on their roster forever

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

Then I will put it this way then. For Buffalo to be a top team that can really compete for the cup this team in the near future needs some more offense with some size and another stud on defense. This team is a playoff team for sure but I don't see them getting into or past the second round. And if Vanek is out for the rest of the playoffs they will be lucky to get by Boston.
Here's the situation. Tallinder and Ldyman are unrestricted at the end of the season. Who replaces those two. Is Butler, Sekera or Gragnani better than those two? The team needs to take steps forward in the offseason and not backwards. The Teams in the Northeast Division are getting better and better and Montreal looks like they are playing solid hockey. Plus Boston should be better next year especially getting Hall or Seguin in the draft plus whatever they do in free agency. They are a good team defensively and only lack offense. People seem to forget that Boston was a top team last year. I just want to see the Sabres put a dramtic team on the ice like when we had Drury, Briere and Dumont. That team was a cup contender until all the injuries killed them
