"Backchecking
Rushing back to the defensive zone in response to an opposing team's attack."

Start taking notes. This will be on the test Monday.

Was not impressed with Tim today.

Pomminville was also a -3 after scoring one.

Time to nut up or shut up.

That line was our best one after Vanek got hurt besides the fourth line.

Even if they ended up being a -3 off of some lucky bounces.

Those bounces aren't going to be happening if they decide to be defensively responsible. Tim just meandering his way back towards the defensive zone during that 4-2 made me want to cry.

I have to agree Timmy needs to show up and skate hard and be a factor.

I felt that Conolly's line has been overall unimpressive in these first two games. They're solid when they break the zone without a lot of traffic, otherwise they tend to have trouble maintaining control of the puck.

What if they moved Torres or Ellis up and perhaps Ennis back to spread out the forecheckers a little more?

Connolly isnt hustling, both the 3rd and 4th goals were results of him screwing up.

They need someone who can forecheck well on that line. Moving Torres, Ellis or even Grier up would be a good idea. Unless Ennis and Connolly stickhandle the puck insanely well, that line is going to have no space to work with.

Speaking of Matt Ellis, he was fantastic today. If the entire team had his work ethic, this would be a frightening hockey club.

I'm not sure if he was on the ice for the 4th. I know he let Chara just cruise in from the point without even thinking about covering him on the second goal, though, and that infuriated me.

It was the fourth (Im pretty sure), the puck was rolling to the top right corner of our zone and Tim just reached out with his stick and barley tried to clear it, it was then hijacked and given to a Bruin who put it away.

Looks like that's another fuck-up for me to add to this list. I knew someone botched that play, but I guess I didn't see the number 19.

I wouldn't say the third goal was his fault at all, and it wasn't Ennis' fault either, it was an errant pass which resulted in the 4-on-2. Ennis just missed Connolly.

The only thing I didn't like was Connolly not hustling back as hard as Ennis and Pominville, I don't know if he had been even closer to the net or not now, but that goal wasn't his fault, I still doubt he would have been much of a factor in it in defense even if he hustled more.

The forth goal for some reason I don't remember, but it glanced off of Pominville's stick and went in, I'd have to say that goal was more luck since it went off the stick and changed direction. Plus Pominville was in front of Chara, not sure how Connolly should take a point when he is the centerman on that line.

That line has to be better. Once Vanek got hurt, we were screwed, because Roy's line was hampered by Grier, and Timmy's line isn't playing well.

I actually was so angry I blamed it on Lindy, which wasn't the right thing. I know Connolly and Roy already, they like to do their own thing. They like to think they are the best danglers in the NHL, but they never see reality.

Bench Connolly would be my decision. He wont listen.

unfortunately i don't think that is going to happen.....i just saw a very startling stat in the buffalo news today...

Tim Connolly has gone 19 straight playoff games without a goal......

He's not playoff material
and I do not want him on the team next year

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

If I'm not mistaken, TC bounces back from bad games with a big game. I bet there's stats to back this!

I'm hoping Tim finds his game on the road tonight.

If he doesn't, we're in trouble.

I don't know if that logic applies in the playoffs since he hasn't scored a goal in his last 19 playoff games.....
