I think Tim Connolly and Jason Pominville need to pick up the scoring load with Vanek out (especially Connolly - 5 SOG and -2 in two games? Come on Tim).

Time to man up.

Well, I have to say Tim and Derek are tied, I've...(wow it's hard to admit this) thought that Jason has stepped his game up nicely. He BURIED that setup from Ennis last night, if other people had popped some in we'd have had a different game.
Timmy is showing very little confidence, and Roy has just been unspectacular, he's trying...but it's not really working.
Ideally I'd like someone in the wings to surprise me, Kennedy, Ennis, Torres, hell even Stafford if he gets in. The sabres have defined themselves as being 'team' centered, which is a great strength when one producer has to be replaced, the others are supposed to fill the void.
Vanek being hurt MIGHT just be the thing to spark this team to remembering what their strength really is, and to getting their heads right. We'll see.

Excellent point. Maybe the team needs to step up.

I love Ennis and Pommer's game, but really. Connolly, you make me want to drive a fork through my stomach. That's how bad he's been.

he has 0 shots on goal this series. its bullshit.

did any of you guys see the mid wearing a miller mask yesterday at the game? they showed it on the jumbotron. i talked to the kids dad, and i said it was one hell of a replica. turns out its his mask from 08-09 and the kids dad bought it from the steadfast foundation. it was AWESOME.

I'd say Adam Mair, Paul Gaustad, Tim Kennedy and Patrick Kaleta. Enough is enough. Chara and Lucic can't injure people with questionable hits if they're not on the ice, just saying.

Definitely Connolly. Trying to give him some slack because he's just returning from injury, but he needs to be counted on to put some pucks in the net.

The only answer to this question is Tim Connolly, he's been a fucking ghost for 2 games, and playing softer now than he was in February...either sack up or retire Connolly, you're simply just not talented enough to play as soft as you have been.

the TEAM needs to step up... If TV is out, everyone needs to pick up their game... and if Stafford is brought in, he needs to stop playing like a girl (no offense ladies)... if he is going to keep playing like a pansy, just bring Mancari up....

And if TV does play, the team still needs to step up.... because you know TV isn't 100%.... I'd like to see more from every player!

As for those going after Timmy, Ill bet a $1.00 he isn't close to 100%... and if it was the regular season, he may not have started the series... so I can cut Timmy a little slack, but still want to see more out of him and the rest of the team....

I voted other....none of the players listed should have to do anything too crazy but play there regular game....I think need Ennis, and Torres to step it up.....and whoever is going to take TV's spot

Tyler Myers - Future captain of the Buffalo Sabres, and future Norris Trophy Winner

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

Tyler Ennis. He is the ONLY Sabre who has shown repeated willingness to do what is necessary to try and win. He can skate circles around the Bruins, he shows a willingness to charge into the zone, and he will turn on the afterburners to get the puck and make the play.

He has Afinogenov's legs, Briere's hand and vision, and it makes him dangerous.

Great, he'll be the next one to take a stick over the knee :(

I would like to see better execution on the forecheck by the entire team, especially the 3rd and 4th lines. It would be nice to see the Bruins defense get wore out by a long hard fought forecheck, and then before they can change, Ruff pins them in with a fresh scoring line! Suddenly, everybody on the ice will start to look like Vanek to them. Right now I think the Sabres are a little too cute with the puck, and they need to force some turnovers a long the boards and make the Bruins work harder then they have had to so far.
