sorry phil, but

with the remaining games, if the home team wins all of them, then boston wins 3 more, and the most the sabres would win is one more, making boston 3/3 on home ice, and 1/3 away

Your math sucks, Mo.

i dunno if my math sucks, or im just not clear

ill try and clear it up, and if it doesnt work, then ill give up and ill be wrong

with the series tied at 1-1, the remaining games are

BUF BOS
BUF BOS
BOS BUF

BOS BUF

Boston has the potential to host three home games, while we can only host two at the most
if the teams win their home games, then boston would win the series 4-2, because they would win three games at home, and lose one on the road. Because they can win the series by only winning on home ice, they hold home ice advantage

If we win a game in boston, we revert to having home ice

if this doesnt make sense, faults on me for not being clear, and ill give up

OK, I guess I will explain it. I'm feeling generous.

With the series tied at one game apiece, there are five more games to play - three in Boston, and two more in Buffalo. The Sabres can retain home ice advantage by winning game three. How? Well, the Sabres win game three, and they go up 2-1. The Sabres would then be in the driver's seat with two more games in both arena. If they win game four, they'd have home ice advantage completely, with two more games in Buffalo and one in Boston.

If the Sabres win game three but lose game four, the series is tied with two more games in Buffalo, and one in Boston. The Sabres still have home ice advantage in that respect.

Now, if the Sabres lose game three and go down 2-1 in games, then the Bruins have the advantage of home ice with the next game being in Boston with the chance to go up 3-1 and continue momentum from there into game four in Boston.

All your post did was waste time and energy confirming what I said in my post - that if the Sabres win a game in Boston (game three), then they retain home ice advantage.

Good job.

It's just semantics.

Do you call it home ice advantage when one team has more home games left, or when one team has more home games overall?

Could you guys explain the concept of home ice again? Oh, and what is this "offsides" I keep hearing about during hockey games?

In my only defense, when i submitted the post you had not posted the explanation
you are mostly right

If the Sabres win game three, they will have home ice once again

all i was saying if right now they do not, because of the series being tied

anywyas, im done, im tired, have a nice night

My original post you quoted said if they win game three, they retain home ice. How did you quote something I didn't say? Are you a black mage?! TELL ME OR I'LL REPORT YOU TO THE INQUISITOR!

Let's trade Adam Mair, Matt Ellis and a third round pick for Ovechkin. I don't see why Washington wouldn't do it. They're getting TWO players for ONE AND a draft pick!
