They can. They really can. But the issue is that they feel as though they're entitled to compete with them. They just fucking go through the motions for half the game and only turn it on when there isn't any time left to turn it on later. These loses wouldn't sting as much when they can play like winners, but just choose not to.

Which is why, enjoy him while you can...I doubt after his current contract is up he stays in Buffalo...so in 4 or so years we have left enjoy him before Detroit pays him 8 million a season..

I'm not a true fan huh? I doubt that I just don't expect much out of this team because they lack size and skill up front.

I'm trying to keep a perspective on this and trying not to have the sky fall because of this loss, but goddamn it's hard.

sad... im just sad... only down one game, but they just didn't look good.... just seems like they got man handled... with Timmy at about 70%, Staff being a bit out of shape, and without Vanek and ZE German, we just lose to much size.... and skill.... sad...

I'm with Vancouver.

Well, I'm not feeling too good right about now considering we just lost. But trailing 2-1 isn't the worse thing in the world, and winning the series is certainly still very much in reach for the Sabres. It's in their hands, and I think this loss is good for them in a way because for a lot of the game I didn't feel as though the Sabres were playing "playoff hockey".
