Well, he doesn't have a Cup, that's true, but his record is still quite impressive.

19th in career wins
15th in playoff victories
Top 6 in playoff winning percentage
1 Jack Adams award, 2 nominations
Assistant Coach for Team Canada

7 playoff appearances
2 division championships
4 conference final appearances
1 Stanley Cup final appearance

Only ONCE under Ruff has this team failed to advance out of the first round. ONCE.

I'm totally willing to discuss getting a new, more aggressive GM in here that can give Lindy some players, but I do not think that Ruff is the problem.

they go after our start player we go after theirs. just like against the sens. we dont go after the tough guys because they dont go after ours. they are a bunch of pussies. they only go after our small skilled players so we should do the same. and also i would like to see kaleta just run over rask just because :)

All I'm saying is that if we want to get that cup it seems to me something has to change in the coaching and or management. I don't have the answer since, hell I'm an artist not a hockey exec but I can see something is lacking.

No disagreement with that point. I just wanted to put up some reasons why I think Ruff isn't the problem.

Yeah I know. Just frustrated as hell to have lived in places like Florida and Colorado who have all seen cup success without having the level of dedication and love for the team as we do. No one here in Colorado Springs even cares that the Av's are in the playoffs and in Tampa after the cup win they didn't even have hockey cards in box sets at the shops. Oh they had box sets of Golf cards and NASCAR for shit's sake but no NHL. The fans in Buffalo deserve a win more than most other fans and something's gotta change. We have an elite goalie so get this dude some skill in front of him and let's get to the damn cup. Agreed though by the way....much rather a management change.

I know it's fun to talk about "run this guy through a wall" and "run that guy through a wall" and "we got McCormick now and we're gonna make 'em pay!"

Problem is, as I mentioned in a different thread, all the Bruins have to do is say "fuck'em, let's take out Miller".

Game/Set/Match.

Careful what you wish for.

In response, we say: "fuck 'em, let's take out Rask."

They make us play our backup, we make them play theirs.

And, haven't the Sabres had more success against Thomas than against Rask?

The Sabres have a ridiculously-good record against Tim Thomas. Problem with going goalie hunting is, we shell Tim Thomas and move on, then what? Hope Lalime gets us through the second round? *shudder*

How about Myers? All I hear about him is how physical he was in junior, where's that guy? He's great at passing and moves the puck well. Does everything offensively he's asked. Very good defensively, but for some reason, he's not tossing his big body around either.

Myers is not big enough to be that player this year.

Myers is 6'8 223 compared to Chara who is 6'9 255 or something.

When Myers is over 240, he can be a mean physical player. He's too lanky and small right now to be any of a physical guy like Chara, he could take a beating on a smaller player in the 6 foot range, but even Goose has him in weight and is shorter than him.

I'd rather have Goose fight Chara again then Myers. I'm sure Myers can hold his own, but he needs more weight to be that ultra effective hitter.
