As much as I really wanna get behind the rally cry, Irony, I dunno man, maybe I'm still sore about the game tonight. Maybe by Friday I'll be on the same page but as for now, I'm getting ready to grab the shovel to toss that last pile of dirt on the season that was. Still some hot coals in my belly screaming to, "Believe", but it's gonna take a day or so... :S

The only thing I'm hoping for now is that the last game Boston wins, they are up by two or three goals in the last few minutes. This would allow every Buffalo player to chop, hack down, elbow, knee, or bite scratch and kick any Boston player in the building without the game at stake. I wouldn't care if they were just sitting on the bench...they should all have targets on their sweaters.

The more I think about the Boychuk shot on Vanek, the more it irritates me. All Boychuk really had to do there was get the stick up and hook Vanek's arms to break up the play, but instead he took a two-hander to Vanek's knee, looking to do some damage.

To me, it seems like the intent to injure is clear. If you have to options to break up a play and you choose the one that is more likely to cause injury...well, something's wrong there.

So in short, I'm fine with the above statement. I'm also fine with doing that, and winning the damn series instead.

Man I like to think so, but the games have been so close we have no margin for error against bad bounces or more poor officiating.

That been said, I think we can get enough of a lead so that it doesn't matter.

It's been done before.

Statistics show the Sabres don't give up leads when they're winning after two periods, and look what's happened so far these playoffs.

Statistics also show that teams don't typically come back from 3-1 deficits in the playoffs.

But it happens, and with the last 2 out of 3 games in Buffalo, with Vanek coming back, and with Connolly and rookies getting better with each game...

It just kind of sets the stage, don't you think?

This isn't like being down 3-0 to Ottawa in 07, where we just knew we didn't have it.

Force game 6, and the pressure's on Boston to close it out at home. If they fail, it's back to Buffalo for game 7...

I'd like to think the Sabres are too prideful of a bunch to let themselves get knocked out by the Bruins in front of almost 19,000 Sabres fans. That same logic makes me hope that whoever wins game 6 takes the series.
