BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have recalled eight players from the AHL’s Portland Pirates.

Coming to Buffalo are: goaltenders Jhonas Enroth and J.P. Lamoureux; defensemen Mike Weber, Marc-Andre Gragnani and Mike Kostka; and forwards Philip Gogulla, Nathan Gerbe and Mark Mancari. http://www.portlandpirates.com/newsarticle.asp?Id=2027

This is typical when an AHL team gets eliminated.

They call up these players to practice with the team so they're ready to play if injuries occur.

Portland got eliminated so...guess we decided to call up these guys. I thought Luke Adam was on that list too.

Put Gogulla on the roster. This team is greatly lacking in wacky German backhands.

I wonder how many people thought Lindy had lost his mind (maybe not?) and was turning over half the team for game 5!

That woulda been freakin' hysterical.

I wonder how Jeanrette would have adjusted!

I'm following them as well. be there at one-ish. What time does the party start down at the plaza? I'll be alone and wanting to mill around with the cool fans. I spent too much time in the Banknorth garden.

Party in the Plaza starts at five. $5.50 for pint cans of Blue and other lesser beers, $7 for a chili dog dinner, and (provided they win) the best free sporting event of your life.

Ever been to Buffalo?

I have ridden on the zamboni in HSBC, and had a tour of the arena, met Kevin Sylvester & Mike Robataille. Yeah, I have been to Buffalo quite a few times. I've been to Ralph Wilson stadium too. Since the Pirates hooked up with the Sabres, I've gone to every Sabres game I could reasonably get to as well as get center ice to watch the team from home.

Last year we spent Thanksgiving in Buffalo & saw 3 games. I was also at both Pirates games in HSBC this season as well. I like the people out there, they are for the most part, very friendly.

I hope to be checked into my hotel by 1pm or so.

Well, that answers my question :D

Have fun, and (if you're in the 300 LVL), enjoy a beef on weck from The Carvery right at the top of the Adam Mair-side escalator for me!
