While in essence I completely agree with this, i'm not sure it's that cut and dry here. A 7 game series is meant to truly flesh out the difference between two teams. It eliminates a fluke win deciding who moves on. While I do think that the sabres are a better team than the bruins, I dont think the margin is enough to overcome one sided reffing. While they have in effect 'made their own destiny' with the team they've constructed, they're not only NOT having their hands held, they're having the playing field tilted in favor of the opponent. If this series were happening in some sort of referee-less vacuum I think the sabres would take them in a long series, with the advantage afforded the bruins with less than fair reffing, it makes for a bruins win. Just my two. Of course in the interest of fairness I WILL point out that the end results of the season series is pretty much exactly in line with what is happening now, and we werent bitching about the refs ALL season long, so...

I'm starting to think people inside really have money on these series' LOL. What are the coincidences that in the first two games all 8 series' were tied 1-1 then through the first 4 games every series in the east was 3-1 and every series in the west was 2-2?

Maybe it's me but all the officiating complaints and these statistics just seem to show something fishy?
