I don't think the guys would relax if Vanek came back.. You think they would be fired up and want him to energize the club even more than it is already. Vanek in the lineup in the playoffs is a good thing. He is a game changer.

Stafford may be invisible, but he does like to keep the puck in the offensive zone. It's better than Connolly, who freaks out when he has the puck.

I could not agree more with that statement. That Gerbe-Mair-McCormick line was awesome yesterday. And then Ennis just tore it up with Roy and Pominville, it seemed like Ennis was everywhere at once.

Connolly, Kennedy, and Vanek on a line then. Maybe with Vanek coming back he can help Connolly be more effective.

I'd want him back, because he has an urge and drive which we need still. Remember how the team played with him in game one and before he went down in game two. We need him back, and these two days rest I hope heals his ankle enough to play.

Idk.. Im really hating how Stafford has been playing the past 2 months, but Boston players would be skating circles around Vaneks injured ass.. Vanek being slow would make him be out of place which would ruin our system which would let Boston score goals on us..

I was watching Stafford closely last night and as much as I want someone to replace him, it still looked like he was skating faster than Vanek ever would be able to..

Why are people saying Vanek is slow, I've seen him hustle and breakaway plenty of times this season.

Vanek isn't a slow guy, it's always been the whole he eats donuts and stands around all the time at the front of the net.

Vanek keeps up with Roy on the forecheck and any of our other players. And if he's back I would bet he wouldn't feel his foot at all with the amount of pain kills injected into it.

Vanek is slow...unless he can work up steam. He doesn't have break-out speed.

Im not arguing Vanek's normal speed, but he will be slower than usual since he won't be 100%.. and that may be a big problem..

With Vanek back, I see the sabres playing with more confidence. Especially if he scores.

If this team can't rally around a return of their leading scorer, they don't deserve to win this series anyway.

Has Vanek ever needed speed to score? Really?

What about an 85% Vanek?

Is an 85% Vanek still better than a 100% Stafford?

How about a 100% Butler? Is that as good as a 90% Stafford?

If Stafford and Butler play together, are they better together than a 50% Vanek?

If you divide 75% of Torres by Butler, do you have a player whose as good as 60% Vanek or 90% Stafford?

You'd rather have Stafford in over Kaleta?

If Vanek is ready, bring him back and sit Stafford or Connolly. Both of those two have been disappointing to me this series and need to elevate their game. When they are hot, they're hot, but right now, both are not. That almost sounded poetic.

Connolly's getting the chances...I say we keep him in. And bring Torres in in place of Drew (who?) Stafford. If Vanek is back send down McCormick

Also why no Grier in the lineup?

If Vanek is back, I'd sit Stafford and possibly put Torres back in over Gerbe, and Kaleta doesn't come out either.

But I'm keeping McCormick in for this series.

Vanek, Roy, Kennedy
Ennis, Connolly, Pominville
Grier, Guastad, Kaleta
Gerbe, Mair, McCormick

Keep Stafford out, and the Gerbe and Torres I don't know? Maybe put Torres in over Gerbe?
