I remember seeing Royce Gracie knock out a much larger opponent with a couple round house, and a back kick years ago. I thought it was Emanual Yarbrough that he knocked out, but I think it was Kieth Hackney that took out Yarbrough. Anyone remember those bouts?

I recently saw hat fight rebroadcast, but something has happened to my short term memory in regards to who he was fighting.

It was the Gerard Geroux fight from UFC 1 I was thinking about - a quick rear naked choke!!

Well after watching Kimbo get beat by Nelson tonight I have to go back to what I said previously about being a well rounded fighter. Kimbo is obviously bigger, badder and meaner than that fat piece of shit Nelson but even against a pudgy bastard like that Kimbo lost. All nelson had to do was get him to the ground (and Nelson is not the yard stick by which shoot fighters are measured by any means) and lay on him. I'm not saying that getting out from under 264 pounds of hamburger is easy, what I'm saying is that if he was well rounded, perhaps heavily trained in take down defense or ground defense then he would have won that fight. Just goes to show that the bigger stronger fighter can be beat by a fat, past his prime piece of ego like Big Country Nelson if all he has is a one dimensional style.

Kimbo didn't do a god dam thing - didn't throw any real punches or go after that fat piece of shit at all. One of the worst spectacles to be called a fight in a long time. The announcer even said the punches Nelson was hitting Kimbo with were like being slapped by a seven year old girl!!

If Kimbo would have come out chasing and swinging like a real street fighter, he may have won. He showed no heart, no fire, and no skill. No way should he be allowed to fight in the UFC again. If he gets back on the house fight list and wins the finals, I will know that the UFC has joined the ranks of pro wrestling :angry-screaming:

i think a big thing going into that fight was how much they tried to cram into Kimbo's head. Rampage is one hell of a fighter but a coach he is not. Trying to get Kimbo well rounded in a couple weeks just ended up making the guy second guess himself. He went in there trying to remember too much, too much screaming through his brain and didn't play to his strengths at all. I think he deserves another chance for sure but this time he needs to go in there and cut motherfuckers down instead of worrying about every possible thing that could go wrong. There is a lot to be said for a fighter who goes in clean and empty, focused on destruction rather than nervous from cramming like a school kid. Like I said before i think Kimbo is a long way from being the fighter he needs to be to fight int he UFC but I'd like to at least see Kimbo be Kimbo and then get cut.
