I hope he doesn't have to. I hope the skaters dominate so he looks like Osgood half asleep with 12/12 on saves.

Hellz yeah!

I'm sure they Bruins are nervous that Vanek could be back too.

They saw him play in the series though.

Don't like this :|

He's yet to work out with the team, Savard won't be back in round 1, if he's coming back it's either going to be in round 2 or next season.

In the News, Savard stated that coming back for part of this series is doubtful
http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/04/20/1 ... es-in.html
"We have to be realistic here but I'm hopeful," Savard said during the Bruins' morning skate in TD Garden. "I can't see these next two games, that's for sure. Down the road maybe it's going to come down to a coach's decision and a trainer's decision and myself."

I don't care who they bring back. They can bring back Savard, the can bring back Bobby Orr, hell, they can dig up Eddie Shore and prop him up on the blue line for all I care. We can beat this team if we play Buffalo Sabres team hockey.

Savard wants to play? Bring it.

These guys have to be at such a high degree of "ready" in their physical conditioning, that it's hard to believe Vanek, and especailly Savard, will be able to make much of a difference the first or even second game back.

I don't know if the coaching staff wouild even let thses guys on the ice unless they were 100%, 'cause even a top player at 75% can hurt the team.

It's amazing how much ground these guys lose after only missing a few games, no less a month or more.

As per Darren Dreger, Marc Savard is going to see a 3rd party specialist this weekend to see if he's good to go on Monday of not.

Anyone else feel as though he's rushing his comeback because the Sabres dominated the Bruins and prevented their elimination, and he feels they need his help?

Let him rush his comeback and play like a liability.

"3rd party" sounds like he's going to see some guy in a back alley that calls himself Dr. Feelgood.

Just for the record, while reports are saying Savard is thinking about going to see a third party about his concussion, it still isn't up to him. His personal and team doctors won't clear him for contact.

He's yet to be cleared for contact anyways. It was in the Vanek article.

And you need to be cleared by your team doctors to play a game. He has yet to practice with the team with contact also. He is weeks away from even playing.

Yahoo! Sports reports that Savard practiced with the team today. Hmm...

Skating with the team is not the same as practicing with them.

Meanwhile, in Boston, coach Claude Julien gave his team the day off. They'll practice Sunday. Marc Savard skated as he continues to work on his fitness in hopes of returning to the team during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Bruins said Thursday that Savard has been medically cleared only to work out, not for competitive practices or games.

Posted yesterday.

Posted today:

Injured Bruins center Marc Savard, who hasn't played since suffering a concussion on March 7, practiced with the team, took a lot of shots, did a little hitting and said he felt much improved. Savard said he has a medical test scheduled for Monday and doubted he would play in Game 6.
