You're missing out. It's a Canadian tv show about drugs, booze and criminals, with a very funny spin to it. I highly recommend it. I just wondered cause they use the term 'shit storm' in it frequently lol

You know what I REALLY find depressing?

It's not this loss, or the PP, or the season, or the last 4 years, or the last 11years.....it's the fact that the upper management of this team, up to and including this owner, ARE NOT COMMITTED TO WINNING A CUP.

The problem with that is, no matter what happens at the lower levels, the odds are against winning the big prize.

ALL OF THEIR MOVES ARE REACTIVE, NOT PRO-ACTIVE.

Drury, Briere, Campbell: ALL left because management waited too long.

Vanek signed for way too much, because management waited too long and Edmonton made a huge offer.

Trade deadlines come and go with few substantive aquisitions.

They "believe in their players" instead of AGGRESSIVELY getting veteran talent to take them far in the post-season (and don't bring up Kovie-we know it doesn't always pan out, but you gotta try!)

They also, for REACTIVE PR reasons, signed and overpaid Connolly, Pominville and Roy.

I like the fact you rejected Kovalchuk. There are skilled players out there that can play our system, Kovalchuk is not one of them. I would rather take a guy like Frolov from LA, at least he has more defensive coaching and more a team dynamic than Kovialchuk.

I get your point, powerplayer...and not to nitpick, but Campbell didn't leave because of management waiting for too long. He got multiple offers from Buffalo, which he turned down. So they traded him instead of signing him to a ridiculously expensive contract.

Well, maybe our Myers and Miller can mop up at the NHL Awards show

For which we should all be thankful for. Brian Campbell has totally vanished.

Roy makes 4 million dollars, he is overpaid HOW?

Drury and Briere was a mistake, they've fixed that, Miller signed in July, July 18th , before that season even started, so they didn't wait on that.

Also, would you have wanted to send away, Kennedy, Ennis, Mancari, and a pick to land Kovalchuk? That is what they would have wanted, and just lose him, and lose two young guys who are going to be great for us?

They've had to rebuild the team, which I agree with some of the points, but we need a few assistant coaches to run the PP to top 5 in the league again, not 17th or whatever it is.

Connolly did fine during the season, the last 6 games was a different story.

Pominville was signed during the period of highly inflated contracts. Gaborik would get 9 million at that time also, he signed for 7.5 last year.

We'll also shed some more salary this offseason to help build the team up with hopefully a good signing in FA.

If I remember correctly, they could have cut a deal with Campbell the summer before the season started, but chose to wait. THEN Campbell got other offers as the trade deadline approached.

I did hesitate to put Roy in that group, but maybe they could have gotten him for 3.5 and some Arby's coupons.

Well Campbell refused all deals in October also.

Campbell refused to take a deal that management was actively seeking to give him, and he then opted to cut off all negotiations.

Yeah, that one was all on Soupy. I honestly think that he was pressured by the PA and his agent to not resign here and get a huge contract to drive other salaries up.
