The last night on campus is going to be so creepy. It's an extra night after every person except those going on two international trips HAS to be gone... so I'll be one of maybe three girls in a dorm that holds hundreds... I stayed till the last day allowed last year, and it was so quiet I didn't know what to do with myself.

Reminded me of my friend's house... an only child... I'm so used to having kid brothers and random neighborhood kids yelling CONSTANTLY. A house just isn't a home to me unless it's kind of/really loud. I like when the dorm is loud. It annoys most, but it's what I'm used to with brothers and cousins my entire life.

I signed up for the trip ASAP after finding out about it (my college requires at least one cross-cultural trip to graduate and offers many every year); I've wanted to go there my entire life for unknown reasons. We're going to see basically everything in Moscow and St. Petersburg... all the museums, Gorky Park, the circus, an opera at the Bolshoi Theater... along with living with families in average towns and doing some work there. I'll be there for several weeks.

I will have fun. :)

Doesn't Drew have his own facial hair! He's keeping it because it's his new look. 8-) Although I miss his earthy beard... But a porn stache is the next best alternative, I suppose.

Mastodon concert postponed yesterday until today. So I went to sushi with Missy, got new nose jewellery, ate pastries from Dolci, and got a growler of Long Trail double IPA from the Village Beer Merchant. A deeeeelightful consolation night.

My grandpa died last night, at 7:03pm.

He lived just long enough for me to get home, and say good bye. I'm glad I got to say good bye, and I was able to be there as he went. I'm going to miss him more than anyone could imagine.

If you guys could, please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. It's tough losing the foundation of the entire family, and we're all having a very rough morning.

I've been there before. I'll keep you guys in my prayers.

I cried for him only once several weeks after he died, but so many years later the most random things will still make me tear up.

Same way for me - it's crazy what can trigger a memory here and there. I was really close to my mom's parents, and they died about 10 days apart (my grandpa died from a broken heart). It's a really hard time to go through, my thoughts and prayers are with you, Jay. :( :( :(

In the dining hall for a grand total of five hours today, and I left dinner earlier than usual to take a nap before finishing my last assignment of the semester (!!!).

I went to bed after 5:00 and woke up at 7:00... My alarm was set to go off at 7:30... Talk about frustrating. That sort of thing happens regularly, but still. I ended up falling back asleep after my alarm went off. The snooze didn't work, and I ended up sleeping until 9:00 because of it. I have an 8:30 class. Oops.

Edit because hahaha some kid who looks just like my oldest brother friend requested me on Facebook. I had some classes with him last year when I was a bio major. Never miss an opportunity to tell people that he looks almost exactly like my brother. Think I'll add him for the novelty factor.

Wearing contacts for the first time in over a year, and they feel so weird.
