In order, IMO:
Power forward for the first line (RW, obv)
Backup goaltender who can win games cold
PP QB defenseman

I said first line center. Back-up goaltender is less of an issue I think. We don't need extra wins because playoff seeding obviously doesn't fucking matter.

Given my biggest need for us is a power RWer for the top line isn't on the poll choices, I took my next best.

Marleau is a playoff vanisher. Do the Sabres need another center that kills in the regular season only to go ~poof~ in the post-season?

in fairness phil, datsyuk was also known for the same thing, as was hasek (slightly different, i guess)... but they both became important cogs on their way to stanley cup wins.

if the sabres had a shot at marleau, id expect them to take it, ya know?

Don't get me wrong about Marleau, because I'm a fan. I'm just forcing myself to take off the blue and gold-tinted glasses.

Didn't most people hate him for not having enough of an impact in 07 even though he led the team in points?

PP QB d-man. The team has said has much, and even the Buffalo News staff has been harping on it.

I would switch PP QB d man with backup goaltender, IMHO.

I said first line center but to be honest they need all three in order to be an effective team during the regular season and in the playoffs.

Anyone think Enroth can be our backup next season or keep him in the AHL?

His positioning sucks I think. One or two more years in the AHL would benefit him.

I really havent seen much of him besides his one NHL game which wasn't very impressive. I've heard that was playing well before his injury.
