Oh, for fuck's sake.

Myron Rolle gets a massive seal of approval in my book.

Yet, another reason to hate the NFL. Can't the Sabres be back yet?

As much as I hate Teddy Bruschi, he defended Rolle's choice, and lambasted those that criticized it.

You think its just the NFL?

What about the people that criticize Sabres players for extra curricular activities?

Athletes that aren't obsessed are fucking failures.

Nowadays it even pervades high schools. It's kind of disgusting.

last year, miguel cabrera got hammered drunk before an important series, got beat up by his wife, and woke up in the drunk tank. he has come under HUGE pressure and has stopped drinking. good for him, but i also point out mickey fucking mantle played 80% of his games hung over. the other 20% he was still drunk. worked for him!

ANYWAYS, the NFL is a crock of shit. fuck em. kids smart. i heard someone interviewing rolle asked him what it felt like to abandon his team mates and letting them down for graduating early. scuse me? if ANYONE of those team mates questioned that, theres no way in hell id go to war with them.

well, in fairness, the player you mentioned, the guy ran out in front of his car. sober or drunk didnt matter, the guy was gonna get hit either way. he also stopped his car to help the guy, and stayed for when the cops came. he fucked up, for sure, but he took his lumps, and admitted his mistakes. thats a pretty decent thing to do, in my book.

craig mactavish hit and killed someone while drunk driving, and he was back in the NHL the next season as well.

Yeah in the Stallworth case the dude just bolted across the road and Stallworth instead of running, called police and waited.

Dany Heatley killed a teammate and was back in the NHL a year after the accident to recover from his own injuries. If you want to bash on the NFL players for killing, blame all sports who just let it go, Heatley should be in prison for involuntary manslaughter also, but he's not and only got probation.

Fuck anyone criticizing him for taking this prestigious honor. If he won it, then fuck off, he is probably going to a fucking doctor, an ex-NFL player being a doctor? The guy is smart, I don't think many NFL players can say they graduated college in 2.5 years and still get drafted into the NFL.

One of the best quotes from that article is this:
Have we really reached a level of NFL football where you get knocked further down the draft board for being a Rhodes Scholar than you do for being arrested?

heatley should not have gone to prison, the dude was just driving too fast, something weve all done. why are people making him out to be some murderer, when hes just a guy who was driving too fast?

Even I've relented on the Heatley hate.

But, Mike and Alex, thank you for those details regarding the Stallworth incident.

Imagine this, me and you are having a bit of fun speeding in our car, we wreck and our passenger dies and we have major injuries. And everything which happened to Snyders family, their family says and does for you or I.

More than likely, we end up serving a few years in jail or prison, and then we go on probation.

It's always like that with anyone with money. They have money, and they get no sentence or something no regular person in their right mind could afford.

this happens more often then id like, but usually, they dont spend time in jail. the judge himself said the community wouldnt gain anything from him being incarcerated.

he shouldnt be in jail, shouldnt have been, and its time we forgive. but we must not forget.

Honestly I have no beef with him. He was young, driving an Exotic car, and was with a friend. I've done stupid things with my car and it's a POS, my friends and I have done stupid things with them too.

Even I gave up bashing on Heatley and anyone who was a member of forums.sabres.com back in 2007 knows I was one of his biggest bashers.

I said I have no beef with him at all. I know they forgave/embraced him.

I don't bash him for what he did, like I said, he was young driving an exotic car, who wouldn't speed driving a Lambo?
