Did you see the play, Mike? It looked agonizing. Ryan Parent kinda flopped on him and he folded at the knees badly. He was in immediate, excrutiating pain.

Like Van Halen says:

"Woah, woah woah, Cindy's cryin' "

Now Cindy knows what the taint is for,
it should mean a little, little more,
than cute guys in the sta...aaaaaands.

I hope for the sake of God that little fucking Crybaby is golfing this weekend(or hanging out in a locker room with half naked guys, either/or). If the league allowed me(assuming I'm Lapierre of course), I'd paint an x on my taint to throw him off his game(which Montreal did a GREAT job of tonight).

Okay.....here it is:

I'm gonna say it....

I LIKE SIDNEY CROSBY!

I don't find him to be the whiner that so many others claim he is.

He is a clutch player who is fun to watch. He outplays pretty good players on a fairly regular basis. What's not to like?

There are those who hate Crosby but like Ovechkin and those who hate Ovechkin and like Crosby. There are also those who hate both of them.

Then there are those who appreciate the both of them and think they are great for the game. I am one of those.

Man, that hurt watching what Boucher just went through.

Also the whole thing with Crosby, in any interview he ever did, he just sounds so cocky and always full of himself. They had an interview with him when they landed in Montreal the day before on NHL.com and the way he was responding and the way he was acting was so cocky to me. His smug attitude and the way he moves just makes him out to be a pussy.

REALLY? Which player complains about that?

And you're saying Crosby is a clutch go to guy, how is he fairing against Montreal right now? He might have had a few points, but he had 90% of his total playoff points so far in the first series.

Ovechkin had 7 of his 10 points in 2 games against Montreal.

The way Montreal is playing is just dominating Crosby and Malkin to no end, both are so frustrated they can't get anything going. If you throw Crosby off his game he is nothing, and that is how Montreal is playing them. They did it to Ovechkin, and now they are doing it to Crosby and Malkin.

Another one Powerplayer:

Voted Biggest whiner from the PLAYERS!!!!

You're judging based on a snapshot of a few games, I am judging his oveall body of work at such a young age. I guess I just don't get all the resentment about Crosby. I don't feel that at all.

By the way, SMUG? Ever seen a Larry Bird interview back in the day? I've heard Crosby be very generous with compliments of other teams and players in interviews too. And geez, ya know.......even if the guy had a big ego, how can you blame him? He's got a lot of pressure and attetnion for a guy so young. People twice his age couldn't deal with all that. Crosby seems reasonably grounded given the circumstances.

And about that first video: He's a crybaby because he didn't like the big game delay while TWO rounds of hats were thrown on the ice after Ovie's hattrick? Takes a while to clean up one round, no less two. That's a lot of mid-game inerruption honoring the home team if you ask me. Ever notice when there are pre-game honors for a team, many times the visiting team isn't even on their bench? There's a reason for that. Ya know what? If I was the captain of the other team and there was an extra long delay, I'd be pissed too! How does THAT help my team's momentum? The guy's a competitor and wanted to get back at the game. Fine with me.

How many times did Larry Bird punch another guy in the pills from behind and get away with it? :)

I enjoy watching Sidney Crosby play. He's extremely talented, and generally fun to watch.

What turns me off on the guy is the force feeding we get from him. There are plenty of other marketable players in this league that don't get any exposure because the strategy is 'All Sidney, All The Time'. You can't watch a SINGLE national broadcast without hearing a comparison to Crosby, a reference to Crosby, or a promo for Crosby. It's disgusting. When Gretzky was in the league he didn't get this kind of pub, and Crosby is no Gretzky.

I'll also defer to the players who call him a whiner. They're on the ice. They hear what he's saying. Earlier in his career he was notorious for chasing around the officials complaining about pretty obvious penalties, even before he was given the C. There's a time to complain, an a time to shut up. It took him longer to learn that than most.

None of that is much the case anymore.

So how long DO you label him and hold that all against him? 5 years? 10?

As I emntioned earlier, considering his age, talent and level of scrutiny/attention, I think the guy does a pretty good job of being reasonably normal in most every interview/profile I've seen.

Don't you wonder how many other players, even not-so-young, would be labeled as this if they were paid the same amount of attention? There are plenty of whiners and divers in the NHL, but they don't all have such a spotlight on them. If Derek Roy was a supertalent, his diving acumen would be highlighted for years after he stopped doing that.

And by the way, as far as the players calling him a whiner: So what? You don't think there's the slightest bit of envy or jealousy there because of his skill or perhaps some favoritism shown for a star player. Yeah, it goes on. Everybody knows it. You do have to factor that in when assessing the validity of any poll. I remember NBA players making fun of how if you just looked at Michael Jordan funny, you'd get a foul called on you!

None of us are qualified to asses the motivation of players who voted for Crosby as a whiner, so it's almost not worthy of discussion. I'm certainly not going to come to the conclusion that there was some massive wave of jealousy that overcame the players who voted in that poll.

As far as how long I consider him to be a whiner, does that matter? I don't obsess over the concept, and don't set some arbitrary timetable to re-evaluate my opinion. He's done some pretty baby-ish things over his short career that have earned him some labels. Hopefully he'll mature more as time goes on and they'll become less apparent.

He'll still be over-exposed and coddled no matter what happens.

I'd also like to say Forsberg even told Crosby he was a diver, so we can label Crosby a perennial diver also.

I mean Forsberg was a huge name in the NHL and called Crosby out too.

What about Toews being captain, he never had the reputation as a whiner, and he was given the captaincy around the same age as Crosby was named captain. Richards also is a very young captain.

The thing you still have to notice with Crosby is when someone throws him around or off his game he takes it too personally and goes after anyone, I've seen it multiple times and it affects the team, he doesn't just suck it up and score or make things happen, he folds and tries to become a thug player.

Crosby is a good player. I don't mind HIM.

I hate the publicity he gets. I hate the people who OBSESS over him. If he was the best player in the league, okay. But he's really not. Ovechkin is. As much as we hate him it's the truth. Yes, he wasn't good in the PO, but still. He is the best.

I kind of figured that was the end of the road for Boucher. I've seen that injury too many times.
