I wish you were allowed to skate and play hockey on the basketball court near here. No one ever uses it.

My friends and I had a small game going on the tennis court outside the high school here and some guy that looked to be 55 or so just comes flying into the adjacent basketball and slams the breaks right before going into the grass. He gets out of his car and starts screaming at us, saying we can't play hockey there.

Kind of hard to play anywhere else when you just parked your car in the middle of the basketball court, the only other place where we can play.

The bball court by my house has signs up saying no roller blades. Although I have inline skates...haha

It's so fucking obnoxious that it;s so hard to just get a place to play hockey. I think you can rent out the rink for inline for $40 an hour, I might do that haha.

45 bucks an hour is a lot of money to spend when you want to just screw around for an hour or two. Really wish they would start building basketball hoops with hockey nets installed at the bottom.

And there was a sign up outside the tennis court saying no activities other than tennis were permitted. So the guy wasn't in the wrong, we just got pissed at him because he was such an ass about it. He just walks up to us, points out that we're not supposed to be playing there and asks us if we could move somewhere else, and we do it. He immediately begins screaming at us and ordering us to get off the court, and we're going to continue playing out of spite.

I've been saying that for years about bball courts. The biggest drawbacks to getting kids into hockey are the lack of a place to play and the cost of equipment.

I am freaking out.

Grad school depends on me doing well next semester and on my GMAT exam. Well, I really feel like I should take a GMAT prep course so I can give myself the tools to do well. Huge issue. They cost around $1200 and the test is another $250. This is my last hope for grad school, which is required because now to be come a CPA, you need an additional 30 credit hours to sit for the exam. My mom doesn't have the money to pay for it (and I know she would if she could), my dad is a deadbeat, and my family won't help me.

I don't really know what to do. The worst part is that I could get back all the money from a tax credit next year, but I can't come up with it. :'(

If all else fails find an open parking lot, or go to a store that's closed for the night. I mean if you really want to play, you'll find an area to play.

Well I asked earlier about what you guys thought about dating the chick who was 4 years younger than I, and I think after tonight we most likely will, it's going to be up to her parents now.

Went and saw Iron Man 2 with her and had some food afterwords. It was fun, and I really had been thinking about it all week. We'll see, her parents like me and trust me it seems, so that is a plus.

so there was the really sweet, cute girl i went to school with 7 years ago, and i had the biggest crush on her. she found me, asked me out, and we instantly hit it off. shes gained some weight, but shes still awesome to be around. fuck me and my shallowness for even QUESTIONING it, but im really enjoying her around. maybe i should not be a fuck. and i think thats what im going to do.

i know this has little meaning for all of you in buffalo and god knows where else but there are actually several out door hockey rinks with in a 20minute drive from me. one of which (this is the basketball tie-in) is actually a series of basketball courts that is caged in and has rounded corners. its a hockey rink with like 6 bball courts set up in it. the downside is that i believe the poles for the hoops are actually inside the fence...permanent defensemen...?

Bet they throw a mean body check. We don't have anything here, but then again, this is Syracuse. The rink by me, the Greater Baldwinsville Ice Arena doesn't ever have any open skate time (at least not according to their schedule).

However, the Cicero ice arena, which did have several skate and shoots during the winter months (at 8am on weekdays) that I could not attend due to work is now open to me as an option if they are still having them. I should check their schedule tomorrow.

the rinks that i have are actually outdoor rinks that are designed so during the summer you can play street/roller hockey (which im actually doing in a week) and ice during the winter. its sweet stuff.

I don't know of any outdoor rinks for hockey her, but I know the ice rinks are open year round and most off some sort of hockey as shooting everyday, and pick up games two to three times a week.

The stick n puck on a Monday has basically become a pick up game with two goalies and a good amount of people coming out to play.
