I've tried to disable it, but I'm just too skilled to not be completely invisible.

I would really like to go to the Roots picnic in a few weeks. But the cost of tickets, a hotel room and gas is a lot more than I could afford.

My rear drivers speaker doesn't work, well the wires connecting it so I ghetto rigged it and didn't feel like putting the inside panels back on yet. So I have a speaker sitting in my door with a wire coming out from it and going to the rear speaker and tweeter. It's really ghetto right now, but it works since the speakers all work by two connectors on them and run the other speaker from it.

I hate when nights that look super awesome on paper bomb out. You'd think going to a film on rainbow people then a mustache party would be awesome, but it turned out to just be a smelly hippy fest followed by having an allergic reaction to a fake mustache that was ignored due to too much to drink. Very strange night.

Thinking it's time for a beer. These drawings need to be hung up for the night so my eyes can refocus.

Might go to the Ridge in a little bit and playing hockey later today. Also took the day off. Life is good.

the inability to skate usually does make ice hockey harder... ;)

I actually have a street hockey game scheduled for tomorrow evening.

its a bitch trying to get hockey games together out here. even with people who i know have fun playing. Right now i have at least 8 showing up. im going to try to talk my one friend into it and will probably succeed. hes a goalie and the last time he played he got shelled  so hes a little iffy on playing again.

now then

while all the new blackhawk "fans" are starting to become a headache, im hoping it ups the interest in hockey and more street/floor leagues pop up, or at the least more people get interested in playing

Alex, didn't you play street hockey?

I may not be a rocket scientist, but the ability to skate on ice and cement is basically the same concept, the stopping is different is about it.

basically the same, yes. but your stride length on roller blades are shorter then on ice. the stopping can actually be the same. the traditional "hockey stop" can be done on blades. i can do it as a reactionary action but not consciously

Ok, all I know is I'd kill myself on blades and not ice. I'm so used to Ice and not pavement that I know I'd try and do what I do on the ice on pavement and kill myself.

I have so many big yard projects and man am I missing living around my family and friends in New York. When you move every few years you eventually stop trying to make a bunch of new friends each time which is fine until you need a bunch of dudes to come over and help build a fence. Fuck.

Once I got a few shifts in, I started to get better. I'm as fast as anyone, but my technique is bad, and my turning and stopping is weak. It doesn't help that my skates need to be sharpened either.

I'm too used to wheels and 4 on 4, so I have a tendency to try and drag stop instead of hockey stop. Five on five is weird, you don't need to cover as much space, and I feel like you can be lazier. Plus there were tons of people there so I didn't have to exert myself too much or skate too many shifts.

I understand Alex, especially dull skates and how they just suck.
