Both those guys were once in a blue moon type players though

Ryan Miller was a 5th round pick.

Datsyuk was a small guy and was still doing great in the RSL.

He wasn't drafted mainly for his size because he is, or was a tiny guy at the time. But you see how he is now.

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.

If it furthers his playing career and makes him even better, this will be a great move then.

I guess, but how great can he be if he just quits instead of fighting for playing time and more importantly, earning it? So, the kid was faced with a bit of adversity so he packs his bags and jumps ship? I love the fact that he's doing to the WHL because it's a elite league and much more physical then college hockey but the reasoning behind it i don't like.

trying to maintain civility, but fuck off

Everyones chest thumping that this is such a great move, when reality he's not a big deal. I pay just as much attention as you do to prospects -- yes it is possible, but saying its common place for a good prospect not to get playing time in college isn't saying hes a good prospect. I'm not neglecting the news, thanks for it phil, I was trying to explain to some why this is no blockbuster move.

I dont think anyone's really chest thumping about this move but I like it cause now he'll play more minutes in a better league that plays more like the professional leagues tha he will graduate too. Also now I can see him play up to 20 times in the next 2 seasons. Even more if I feel like making the 2 hour drive to the loops. So I like the move. But I dont think anyone thought it was a "blockbuster" move by any means.

I think, and I believe we all agree with this, that's he'll most likely never be anything more than a career AHL player. Do we all concur?

So, we're gonna lose him in a trade to Vancouver and he'll just wallow in their system? ;)
