Since when has Pronger ever been classy or not a douche-bag? Personally, I think it's hilarious.

If you didn't win the game, then skate off, don't go and take a puck from someone who actually could deserve it.

This is, quite frankly, childish and narcissistic ("if I can't have it, nobody can"). Sometimes, the pests like Kaleta, Avery, Carcillo and even Pronger sometimes are entertaining. However, Pronger's actions and words are really dumb in this situation. I believe they call this bulletin board material? Saying the other team has small minds is really not a good idea. Some call it leadership, I would say it looks more like desperate antics.

Probably. I do that sometimes. And he really has not done a bad job, perhaps this is where Mike Richards needs to step in and be a captain, because it seems Pronger is doing all he can on the ice.

And wouldn't ya know it, it was Pronger who called him out on needing to be a better leader earlier in the season, too.

It's just Pronger playing the role of the villain, and he's doing a damn fine job of it - snatching up game pucks, tossing towels in faces, etc. The NHL really needs to start marketing their villains, too.

I recalled Pronger calling him out. Maybe he should do it again, or take control of the locker room for the time being. Richards is still a young guy, it's gotta be tough for him to be a captain in this situation.

You'd think so, but look at Toews. Even in his mini-slump, he's commanding that bench like a pro. He probably has a different approach to being captain, though. I don't know what kind of captain Richards is, but Toews is the micro-manager - he motivates and challenges players on a personal level, asking them to better to make the team better. Up until the last two games, he's lead by example and I don't think he'll remain in his slump for long.

I was looking at this from the view that Pronger is trying to fire his team up but that's just an asshole move. No one on the Phlyers team deserves that puck, what a douche.

If anyone deserves the puck on the Flyers, it's Pronger and no one else.

Yeah but I mean, they lost. Winner gets the puck, always thought of it as an unwritten rule.

I interpreted it more as him trying to piss off Chicago than anything else, try to get them off their game.

So far, no dice. :)

Bingo - he's playing the villain pefectly, but the Blackhawks are too stoic for his games.

Fun note: he's done this in almost every big game he's ever played.

If he's trying to get them off their game I don't see taking the puck as a successful way to go about it. I mean it sucks that he did it and I'm sure they're pissed but not enough to screw up their game. He's being a big fucking baby.

Well, the fact that the Hawks are even talking about it means it was effective. :)

Yeah, I don't really have too big of a problem with this. He's trying to get things turned around for his team in a pretty harmless and entertaining way. Obviously it got Ben Eager a little pissed off.

I feel bad for the rookie goalie who doesn't get to keep the game puck after his first ever Stanley Cup Finals series. :(

Can you imagine Pronger if/when Chicago wins the Cup? They'll be celebrating and whatever and Pronger will be all, "Yeah...well...I GOT THE GAME PUCK...WHAT NOW BITCHES?!"

lmao...this transcript of the interview is priceless:

What happened?

"I couldn't hear him, I don't speak gibberish," said Pronger, who picked up a misconduct penalty at the very end and got into it with Eager.

Where's the puck, Pronger was asked.

"It's in the garbage," Pronger replied. "Where it belongs."

You shot a towel at Eager when he complained?

"So what," Pronger replied.

You're collecting pucks now?

"Why not? What's wrong? It's sitting there. What else is gonna happen to it? It's sitting there. Sure, why not. You got a problem with that?"

Are you gonna sell it on eBay?

"I don't know. Apparently, it got him upset. So I guess it worked, didn't it? It's too bad. I guess little things amuse little minds."
