eh, MJ may be the greatest, but he wasnt the most dominate. i'd say, given griffeys tools, he was the best ever player, but the most dominate is ty cobb, so therefore, i give the nod to cobb.

he finished with over 600 home runs! hes one of 4 players to do that! if thats not fulfilled potential, then i have no idea what is.

The sad thing is that he could have done so much better had injuries not derailed him as much as they did.

oh, i know, phil. but, ya might not wanna argue with someone who has idolized him since 1992. haha.

also, in the clip i showed in the first post, the catch he makes at 1:13, i was at that game at old tiger stadium. SI did a frame by frame spread of that catch.

why isnt griffey comparable to michael jordan? i see no reason he isnt. hell, in the mid 90s, his popularity exceeded his airness.

plus, griffey was the best of his era, as was jordan, but dont have all the records to support that. ken was the original 5 tool player.

bullshit!

hank aaron
willie mays
pre-steroid barry bonds
lou gehrig
micky mantle

thats just a start of a list of 5 tool players before griffey. and several of them would be considered better players overall.

none of them excelled in all 5 tools like griffey. griffey wasnt just good at all of em, he was in the ELITE top 3 in all of em. he was a GREAT baserunner, and that was probably his biggest liability. and he was OUTSTANDING at it.

i give all those players the nod of greatness (pre roid bonds was a very good player, but i never saw him as elite) but i really, after reading and doing research, dont think any of them compare to griffey.

griffey was just THAT good.

but, you are right, i suppose that statement i made was wrong.

he had speed, but it appeared he didnt use it much as he was hurt. i think mantles my number 3 all time guy, i love the guy. seriously. his book was AWESOME.

Hank aaron pisses me off. great player, but in your agenda against racism against black people, you make it apparent in your racism against white people.
