I can assure you it will be reduced. Probably knocked down to a disorderly conduct somewhere in the neighborhood of a $500 fine, and like 120 hours of community service.

Nobody is going to throw the book at a 19 year old kid who gets into a bar fight. If this were the case all of my friends from home would be in jail. And just me if you can get off in Jamestown you can get off anywhere (giggity)

I would really prefer him not to be a total bag of cock and stay the hell out of bar fights, but lets face it, he's a good hockey player, and that doesnt necessarily translate to great person. We're lucky that we have a kid like Myers on our team that stays the hell out of trouble, but a lot of these kids get into trouble when they're in junior, because you mix giant ego's with alcohol and teenage angst and thats what you get. Some kid with a bloody nose, crying to the cops because he got the shit knocked outa him for being a little prick.

It's not over-reaction. Obviously, it will get reduced if the judge isn't a total cock. if the judge IS a cock, all the Sabres legal team has to do is appeal to the right office and he'll get his visa.

Professional athletes of non-US citizenship enter the US on P-1A work visas. Even if Kassian is convicted of assault, he's still eligible for a P-1A visa based on multiple sections of the law, part of that being the definition of a bar fight not meeting the standard of 'moral turpitude'.

Patrick Moran and his cronies need to shut the fuck up. Kassian's professional career is not jeopardized in the slightest for immigration reasons.
