does it really matter? the guys reputation is shot to fuck in baseball and the only way he will get into the hall of fame is by buying a ticket.

This is where I dislike baseball. It's hall of fame, not hall of good baseball players that were also great guys that sportswriters like.

Pete Rose's Wikipedia picture is one of him wearing a La Nova ball cap. WTF? I did not expect that.

I hate to agree with this statement because I love baseball but you are right.

I never really saw him cause being too young but he was only a good reliever/closer.

I think what Alex is talking about, Mike, is that the baseball sportswriters (who I assume are the regime who controls who goes in) are too obsessed with who they like instead of who's a great player.

I think as a whole baseball is really interesting, and I have a half dozen books on my shelf about baseball, but I don't really have a team so individual games don't do much for me.

and willie mays was only a good outfielder.

dude, that's his position...he was arguably the best closer of all time. i'd like to see John Franco get in, but probably won't. he ruled.

the eck was also an ace starter earlier in his career. he moved to the bullpen after he started for several years. he was awesome.
