I've slowly started to outgrow my 16GB. Most of the time I can just blow away some silly app that I don't need or use and make up the space. Considering the 32GB the next time around though.

I should easily have enough money for the 32GB anyways.

But I'll probably just get it, since I got a new 320GB HDD installed, might as well make the best of everything.

Honestly, I think I'd be ok with 16GB if I cleaned up the duplicates and some of the GF's music off there. :)

I really have trouble keeping that much music on a device that I actually listen to.

This thing looks bad ass the only problem though, I would think that using that skype interface or iChat or whatever it is called would really drain the battery on the phone?

You would not regret it.

Honestly, I love my iPhone, but I wouldn't go as far to say that I'm a fangirl about it. I think having a smart phone in general is the best thing ever. My bf has a Droid and while I don't like it as much as I like my iPhone, I wouldn't go near as far to say that it sucks. It's a great phone, but I find that I prefer the iPhone.

I'll chime in from the BB loving crowd. I find my BB is almost indispensible, especially as my writing is taking off. I don't think I'll ever be able to live without a smartphone ever again.

i just hate ATT. i love mah verizon. the new droid is pretty close, and apparently, from what im hearing, the next droid should surpass the iphone. of course, thats all hearsay. i dont think the gap is very big at all though.

im so pissed the effing nexus one is no longer coming out on verizon. so pissed.

Droid doesn't have the market share the iPhone does and I would suspect it will take a pretty long time for it to catch up. I was looking at a pie chart and it was like:

RIM: 35%
iPhone: 28%
Windows Mobile: 17%
Android: 9%
And two other things to count for the remaining 11% (9% and 2%, can't remember)

I think Android definitely has the potential to rise in market share, but I would guess it would mostly be at the expense of WinMo. Honestly, I think if iPhone went CDMA it would pass BB.

I'm getting it the day it comes out.

Thing is sweet, and so far ahead of anybody else it's not even funny... even the Droid, no matter what reports say.

All the other manufactures throw things A, B, C, D, and E into their phones, and then jump up and down and shout, "HEY! WE'VE GOT EVERYTHING THE IPHONE DOES, ONLY IT'S BETTER!"

Here's the thing... they fail to mention how efficient it all works.

Google was quick to say, "We have the fastest mobile web browser in the business!"

...unless a page has flash on it. In which case it lags, jumps, skips, and makes it downright obnoxious to navigate.

And then everyone seems to always forget about other features that can only be found in the iPhone.

Like the fact that they're now laminating the touch screen to the LCD to eliminate light refraction and prevent dust particles from building up. Look at the iPhone 4 outside next to any other smart phone, and you'll see a pretty big difference.

Next, Apple's got the best app store in the industry. Nobody else comes close in terms of quality, quantity, and diversity.

And guess what; nobody will ever come close to surpassing or even catching up to them. You know why?

Because Apps in the Apple Store can be used on iPhones, iPods, and iPads... so there are millions of more users of these applications than there are on any of the other mobile app platforms.

Developers go where the money is.

Meanwhile, all of these apps run 10 times better than the apps on other phones because they have to be approved by Apple... who, by the way, doesn't like shitty software running on their mobile devices. (Screw you, Adobe.)

Lastly, and probably most importantly, Apple designs their hardware and their software; written, built, and designed in house to work harmoniously. That creates a user experience and ownership satisfaction that nobody else out there can match.

So why isn't the iPhone the greatest single handset on the market for all?

AT&T.

Now, this doesn't affect me in any way. I've had a fantastic experience with AT&T since I've owned an iPhone, and I don't plan on switching when they do offer a phone on verizon THIS FALL.

How do I know they'll be on Verizon this fall? Lets take a look at the bread crumb trail left by AT&T.

Very, very quietly, back in May, AT&T quietly changed their service cancellation fee from $175 to $325.

Then, when Steve Jobs introduced iPhone 4 at the WWDC, he announced that AT&T would be 'generously' allowing upgrades for those who would otherwise be ineligible.

So... AT&T locks in thousands of extra eager iPhone 4 buyers for another two years. Then, when the iPhone comes to Verizon later this year, those buyers realize their early termination fee is $325... on top of the $200+ they'll have to spend on another iPhone; one that's Verizon compatible... puts a lot of people out of contention for the switch.

Great for their immediate bottom line... not so great for their long term relationships with their customers.

No, you don't. What you want, is for websites to start running HTML 5, so their pages don't run like trash.

Either way, I don't like not being to go to certain websites because of flash. I don't really care if it's flash of HTML 5, I just want to be able to go to every site with no problem.

Well, I feel your pain, Beth. My BB doesn't support Flash either.

are you serious? two of my friends have droids, one the new incredible. its so fast, its obscene. he pressed brower, put it espn.com, hit enter, boom. instantly. not 2 seconds later, i mean, he hit enter, and it was up. the iphone might be the best, for now, but everyone is saying how close it is. people around the industry.

the iphones great. the only apple product ill probably ever own. but other phones are catching up. thats for sure. i mean, its like, you can only do so many earth shattering things before, really, the only different between one version to the next is smaller things like.. running 2 apps at once, which really, most of us dont care. so, while they make minor changes, other phones can come running up, and catch up almost, till they too, plateau.

if i could get ANY phone, it would be the nexus one. but sadly, that phone hasnt sold well, and verizon dropped it from their network, which blows. and the nexus one supposedly exceeded the 3GS. guess ill never know.

android is a HELL of a platform though.

To be honest, lack of flash hasn't effected my web experience too terribly on my iPad and iPhone.

NHL.com is now all HTML5. I can watch highlights and navigate there very quickly. ESPN.com is the same way.

Porn can be tough... but there are alternatives... like my squeeze.

At any rate, flash is a dying technology. Apple's policies of early adoption keep them ahead of the game.

They're all about the user experience, relative to how reliable, fast, and smooth their products work. Adobe refuses to even try to adapt, so I'm not sure what it is they're clinging onto.

Hell, even Bing is HTML5.

The iPhone is my preferred phone, but let me tell you that the HTC EVO 4G comes DAMN close. That is a VERY sweet phone. Frankly, so is the Droid.

The iPhone wins on it's app store, no doubt. It loses on AT&T, no question there. The EVO 4G also loses on Sprint though. They're not quite AT&T bad, but they're bad.

You almost certainly won't see an iPhone on Verizon until next year. Apple isn't going to produce CDMA and GSM versions of the phone just to reel in Verizon customers. EVERY iPhone they sell worldwide is GSM.

LTE is the next generation of GSM , and that's what Verizon is moving to. Once Apple makes a phone with a dual band LTE/GSM radio (which exist already), and Verizon has it's LTE network up, you'll see it happen. You're more likely to see iPhones on T-Mobile first since they're the only other US GSM carrier of note.
