Me too...it's so anticlimatic. I tried to watch, but since I don't understand the rules, it's not all that interesting to me. I guess a draw is good.

England has never beaten the US in World Cup play...innnnnnnneresting.

That's awesome. Gotta love the NY Post

200 people crammed into Papa Jake's - I'm talking wall-to-wall, standing on benches and booths, the tables all moved outside, front to back PACKED - to watch the game. It was insanity.

Mostly short and tucked into the crowd  (there were a couple of tall chicks in the back dining room, one of which who was FUCKING TALL). But really, it was a schnitzelfesten.

"haha, hell, as long as we get to beat mexico in the elimination round again that would be FINE with me."

That would be awesome, except I highly doubt either team goes far enough for a rematch. Besides that, halfway through the match the Mexican players would be sneaking over to the US sideline, taking off their jerseys to reveal US jerseys. Before anyone could figure it out, there would be guns, drugs, and babies smuggled into the US stands. Maybe it's best that they don't meet.

whomever said the US has never beaten the English in world cup play obviously has not done their research. look at the 1950 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. beat them in a group match.

Yea, Mike, you won't ever have to worry about me rooting for the Yankees. But what does chanting 1776 have to do with them?

Germany looked better than I expected, having six anticipated members of the team out with injury. They are, despite an established WC talent pool, now only the 2nd youngest team in the tournament. I hope they don't have to play and knock out the US at the start of the 2nd round. The US will have to finish first in Group C to avoid Germany...I doubt it.

I'm starting to realize that these matches are boring for so long, then there's a few seconds of great excitement, then it's back to boring for a long while.

Well before I watched them I assumed they were pretty damned exciting because of how into these games everyone gets. Then I watched a couple and I thought they were boring throughout the whole thing. Now I'm starting to figure out when it's exciting.
