I do feel bad about that! It really wasn't anything aside from me entering just that. Before, the only times a Mod could leave "a note" was when we warned someone. This time, I just picked some unsuspecting person and wrote something to see what happened. I was attempting to let the Mods know what they would see if they use the field and I was trying to figure out how to CC. We haven't used any banhammer tools so I was just playin' around. Kind of like how when I sent the mass pm.

I should stop playing. Honestly, I haven't been that embarrassed in a long time. If you could have seen the look on my face, you would have laughed your ass off.

...I ain't got much ass left to laugh off - New software is always fun...using the "Reply All" function, unwittingly: Priceless.

I know on IPB boards you can view your warn status if they allow it so you know what you got suspended for and crap and they can clear it sometimes.

I got a 20% warn on another forum because of me stating my opinion on something.

In phpBB3 there are user notes and warnings - warnings appear as user notes but you can also add notes that aren't warnings.

For some reason, there is also the option when giving out a warning to not notify the user of the warning, which I never exactly understood. What's the use of warning a user if you're not actually warning them?

There's no "warning level," just a counter that counts the number of warnings. There is an option to make warnings expire after a specified period of time, or to keep them permanently.

A warn is separate from a ban, a ban will also notify you of a moderator-entered reason but is issued independently.

Oh, and crosscheck...might want to go into the Administrator Control Panel, go to "manage groups" then go to Administrators and Global Moderators and under "Group Wide Settings" enable "Group able to receive private messages." Then go to "Registered Users" and disable it for them.

Then the selection box when composing new PM's will let you choose just to mass-mail admins or mods but not all users.
