Because some former Sabres upon leaving talked mountains of trash about the city (Peca, Grier among them) and the team. That shit stays with a player when the loudest news they hear is a bunch of garbage.


I think Grier coming back to the team said a lot. That the team that Grier criticized on his way out of here was able to reconcile their differences with the guy says a lot about how far this organization's brass has come out of the crapper. Just my two cents...

I don't think the organization's brass has improved that much. I think Grier realizes he's at the end of his career and probably wouldn't get another deal. I bet Grier retires after this upcoming season.

Grier has a good 2-3 years left in him. He's only 35 (I think?).
