This looks like the beginning of a HUGE shake-up in Nashville! Halischuk isn't even a roster player yet!

Arnott is back in the organization where he won his only Cup ring (a Cup won on a goal he scored).

I guess he'll be their 2nd line center?

So, they bring in McLean as coach. Then they trade for Arnott. I assume the return of John Madden isn't out of the question...

This deal smells of money trouble for the Preds. They send out an impending UFA (Hamhuis) for an impending RFA (Parent) and a pick, and then ship out their captain (Arnott) for a prospect and pick. If they lose Parent to an offer sheet, they get picks. That's three or more picks and a prospect coming in and $4.5M off the next season's books in one day. Hmmm...
.
Tell ya what, if J.P. Dumont waives his NTC and gets traded away for a much cheaper player or picks this off-season, that (to me) would confirm the Preds are in financial trouble again.

Would have loved to see Arnott in the blue and gold

I'd call their GM and offer a 1st, Stafford, and Butler for Shea Weber.

Haaa I can dream...

I love J.P. Dumont, but there's no way I'd be happy with him getting paid $4M.

Especially for 2 more years. I love J.P too, but only up to about 2.5 to 3 million dollars worth of love...

He was given an arbitration award of $2.9M which the Sabres walked away from. If that's what he was making now, I'd be blowing up Darcy's secretary's phone to convince him to bring Dumont back.

if last year was a hiccup, and we were paying 4 mil for one of the most tenacious offensive zone players we've ever had, scoring 20 goals and 40 assists, i'm good with that

Hmm very true. And honestly, last year's hiccup could probably be attributed to Dumont get shuffled so much. He went from scoring two goals in one game to the fourth line the next in the playoffs.

I hereby rescind my disapproval of J.P. Dumont being paid $4M a season

I was gonna say that the disapproval doesn't make much sense. This guy is good for like 60-65 points a season.

I just hope there's a better plan than Raffi Tores in place.

Well, unless we move Roy...I prefer a player of Dumont's calibur anyway
