I have a hard time imagining Darcy getting a package together that is big enough to bring in top defensive talent though, shit even making a big enough move to get a legit goal scorer is beyond the faith I have in him.

Yeah, I agree. I feel bad for Butler, he looked like he had a lot of promise when he was first called up. Just seemed to all go in the tank after that though.

Butler and Weber both looked that way when they were first called up. I just hope that they can get back on track before training camp. Hopefully with Weber getting lots of minutes in Portland and learning from being in the minors and for Butler sitting in the press box will light a fire in both of their asses.

I know they would never shell out the money for Volchenkov but he would be a great addition. He's tough and plays alot of minutes and blocks tons of shots. He's just alittle pricey.

I agree. Hard to wear the C when you're away from your guys for half of the game play and still be an effective leader. I mean you can lead by your play I suppose but you can do that without the C.

Goalies aren't allowed to wear the C anyways. That just tells you that when they were making the NHL rules, captain and goalie just did not mix well.

I'd sooner give Pominville the C back. Maybe Vanek could have a letter this year.

Goalies, for all intents and purposes, CAN NOT be captains. Anyone who wants the goalie to be captain doesn't have his shit in order.

Luongo is the captain of the Canucks so goalies are allowed to be...it's just a retarded idea to put the C on the net minder.

According to a nearly 70 year old rule, Roberto Luongo cannot:
- speak to the refs about calls
- be involved with ceremonial puck drops
Ergo, Roberto Luongo is CINO - Captain In Name Only.

I know, just had a brain fart for a sec. I really don't understand their reasoning for making him the official Captain...seems dumb.

Cuz he's a prima donna BIATCH and they did it to keep him happy. Apparently, he's the tantrum-throwing type.

He's not their official captain. He can't be.

He just put the C on his mask so he could wash the sand out of his vajayjay.

I love that he's "captain" because it magnifies his inability to handle extreme pressure that much more.

He has a C. The team calls him their captain.

He can't do anything that a captain can do on the ice. The NHL does not recognize Luongo as the captain. Rule 6 specifically disallows his from being a captain.

His team can call him whatever they want. He's still not the captain.

EDIT: I don't mean to sound argumentative. I just can't stand that Luongo, mostly because of all this 'captain' nonsense. And the fact that he's an overrated arrogant prick.

Ha, me neither man. Was watching that NHL poker crap and had to change it when he started talking...ugh.

When he came here to Las Vegas for the award show last year Luongo was getting booed. Must not be too popular with the fans as well.

Rivet - C
Vanek - A
Kaleta - A

Three hardest workers and toughest guys on the team right there.

Honestly, and I know not everyone is a fan of this, but I would give the C to Vanek tomorrow if I could. He hasn't had huge years lately but he produces and can at times carry our team. I'd like to see Goose with the A and I can see Kaleta in a leadership role, though he does have the tendency to disappear at times.

All goalies should be the captain of their teams anyways.

He's the most important part on any team and he needs to be loud and clear about his teammates. A C on their chest NO, but they are the leader of the team like Miller is with Buffalo, we all know it, and he knows it. But he's not our on ice captain.
