This was a pretty shameful display on the world stage, once again, by the refs.

Honestly, I dont care how entrenched in culture and custom the beautiful game is, this WC should serve as the games tipping point to it's entrance into the 20th century. Video footage, review AFTER THE GAME (if necessary) of absurd 'fouls' like kaka committed. This is a fucking joke, it cannot continue.

Today's not any better. The red on Behrami was bullshit, and he's handed out 4 yellows in the first half, one which screws a gut for the next match.

It's pretty darn bad.

The refs have been ridiculously card happy at this Cup. Let them play you assholes!

How about Portugal doing a number on North Korea? Damn, 7-0

Remember kids, this is a red card in international soccer.

The Spain Honduras match wasn't too bad. I only saw one that I thought was a dive.

Two players go up for a header. One man winds up crippled. They call this the circle of life, or something.

Actually, it wasn't a red card, it was his second yellow card which is automatically followed by a red card.

Overall the referees weren't that bad in this tournament, 4 matches had really bad officiating (out of 32).
The guys from Mali (USA-Slovenia), Saudi-Arabia (Switzerland - Chile), France (Brasil - Ivory Coast), Spain (Germany - Serbia) were really bad. I didn't expect anything else from Mali and Saudi-Arabia because they can't be good without any experience in big matches. The World Cup rule to have referees from every continent is just dumb and ensures you bad officiating in the most important tournament.

Is the score still 0-0? Are they still kicking the ball around in circles? Soccer is so entertaining......

I think if you watch Argentina play, you'd appreciate it more.

Oh boy, I'm not sure if that was really offside. The rule says in case of doubt there shouldn''t be a call.
Somehow I hope it was offside, the USA got screwed enough already.

Why doesn't FIFA have video reviewing? That's twice in two games. This shit is unacceptable.

It's an ongoing discussion in the FIFA and UEFA. Basically the young want technical help but the decisions are made by old farts who doesn't want any change. Video review and some other technical assistance will come, the question is when.
The problem is that there are to many grey areas in the rule book. I have seen offside decisions which were discussed on several TV-Stations with a different outcome. The rule says, you can be offside with every part of your body you can score a goal with (everything except the arm). So, sometimes it's hard to tell whether his nose, toe or dick was ahead of the defenders.

Back on topic. It looked like onside to me. That's really unlucky.

I can't believe this game is still 0-0, it should be 2-1 USA. The strikers blew it on both sides.
