I like the idea of a dual screener like this. The ill-fated Microsoft Courier project looked great, and I was really interested in seeing it come out. Too bad it got killed.

This tablet has one major problem; it's running desktop Windows. I'm not hating on Windows here, it's just that the OS is not suited for touch input. They've tried to do it before with Windows Tablet Edition, and it was a flop. This thing is just running Windows 7 Home, again not suited for touch input.

All valid criticisms of iPhone OS aside, it wins out hands down in one area, and that's touch usability.

Hmm, given my current love affair with Ubuntu, I wonder if someone is working on a touch input version for the tablets, touch monitors and now this. I'll bet a reworked Netbook Edition would work just fine.

That's brilliant, that is. The Google vs Apple war would hit a new level if someone pioneering enough begins porting Android to touch input computers.

I envision some exciting things coming from this - running Twitter on the bottom panel while streaming a Sabres game on the top, running CapGeek.com on the top screen while crunching the details of coming trades on the bottom, all sorts of good stuff that revolves around the dual screen concept. It would be particularly helpful to me, given all my blog work requires the use of a ton of tabs.

All I did was objectively post some areas that I think it's lacking.

Guess I'm a fanboy.

Beyond the first sentence, there was nothing objective about, IMO. The "This thing will fail. Next." conclusion to your post is kind of the antithesis of an objective observation.

bingo. gets old really fast hearing people gush over apple, and the first sign of trouble that someone is catching up, apple kids will start grabbing at anything they can.

and if numbers are EVERYTHING, i guess that means windows is the superior OS, seeing they count for what? 87% of the market share?

they dont have to be number 1 in everything, but people sure want you to believe that.

at least the ipod cant stack up to the zune, so we got that going for us..

Don't get me wrong - I got nothing against Apple products. But the prevailing attitude of Apple fans makes me want to punch a baby sea otter.

Um yeah...about that....

The iPod crushes the Zune in sales. The iPod crushes EVERYONE in sales. The Zune has some nice things about it, but I personally wasn't a fan of it. The interface has gotten a little better, but I still find it clunky.

I use (and enjoy) Apple's stuff, but I also don't begrudge anyone who doesn't want to use it. Try things out, use what you like.

Let's be honest though, there's just as many folks that shit on Apple products for no reason as there are Apple 'fanboys' that shit on Microsoft stuff for no reason.

my ipod crashed literally all the time. froze up, would randomly delete songs, wouldnt upload songs... all my ipods were just hunks of shit. got a zune a year ago, and it does EVERYTHING i want it to. uploads songs automatically, never froze or crashed ever, its just such a superior product. numbers arnt everything, because if that was the case, blackberry would be the best smart phone, and we all know how much i hate blackberry now (though my new storm with the latest OS is much much much better)...

my mom recently purchased an ipod, after telling her up and down not to, and all she does is call and ask how to do stuff. and seeing i didnt know how to do it either (im technologically pretty sound) it just became a huge hassle.

I don't understand your bad luck with iPods, Mike. Everyone I know that's owned one is still in love with it.

If I had a reason to own an Apple computer, bet your sweet ass I would. But as it were, I don't and I'm very happy with using what I know best. Although, truthfully, I haven't logged in to Windows in forever.
