Interestingly enough, the denizens of the old forums don't have anything to say about tonights winners.

Wonder why that could be.

He was the only safe bet in Vegas. Congratulations to Ryan Miller, and as a fan I have to say thank you for being so darn entertaining to watch. I hope you get to hoist the Stanley Cup next year.

Hey, hey, hey you guys are just awful. Sid contributes a tireless amount of his time and energy towards good causes in Pittsburgh, can't you guys at least keep it within the boundaries of good taste because of that? Eh?

I don't doubt that he does, but I can't get behind anyone winning this award that punched another guy in the balls. Repeatedly.

Crosby plugging Valabik repeatedly in the pills is well within the bounds of this discussion. What did Penguins fans have to say about it when he had Gill hold Valabik prone so Crosby could sock him in the groin? I'll bet they don't even talk about it.

Don't get me wrong, he does do a lot in the community and I still think that story of that old woman he delivered her season tickets to is adorable. But a leader shouldn't act like he does on the ice, regardless of how saintly he is off the ice.

"The award recognizes an individual as a superior leader in hockey and as a contributing member of society. It honors an individual who leads by positive example through on-ice performance, motivation of team members and a dedication to community activities and charitable causes."

I think that any man who sucker punches another grown man in the ball sack over and over yet whines anytime he gets touched is no leader on the ice and isn't setting "positive examples". It's a shame that such a talented guy can make hockey fans all over the world hate him not for what he does to teams on the score sheet but because he's just that much of an all around D-bag.

i think the whole crosby whines too much thing is really just an extension of his early years. he was 18. hes 23 now, and hes not that bad on the ice any more. i think really, people just wish he wasnt over exposed (which, compared to say, lebron james and kobe bryant, hes a no one) and they wish sid was on their team.

i remember everyone asking me to join a national hate sidney crosby day thing after the olympics. how pathetic.

I do not - DO NOT - want Sidney Crosby on the Sabres.

And maybe if he'd stop behaving like a child on the ice, he'd leave that reputation behind him. Instead, he has apologists.

Pretty funny/pathetic.

First of all, those were cowardly piece of shit cheap shots and it was quickly overlooked here in Pittsburgh. Nobody in the media here is going to focus on that anymore then they would if Vanek stooped that low or any other adored star player in any other non-canadian town. That's just how that sort of thing goes.

Secondly, for that jackass to compare it to what Bertuzzi did is just stupid and some of you guys are going on like he used his junk for a speed bag for 10 minutes straight while Letang and Gill held him down. And it was like TWO YEARS ago, not that big a deal to remember something like that from so long ago no matter who did it.

And lastly, what the fuck was up with Valabik in that interview, acting like he just got raped on film. I'm sure there was good reason for the scrum, Sid just got carried away and gave him perhaps more than he deserved. Talk about whining...

Who compared it to what Bertuzzi DIDN'T DO - gravity carried them to the ice, where Moore was injured.
