There has been a push to do this since 2005 and it finally got approved.
Personally I'm a fan of separating the porn out with a TLD, but some in the industry are afraid of censorship.

Seems like a good idea to me. I like that it would be easier to filter out the porn when doing searches and what not, especially with my kids getting older and starting to use the computer. As far as the whole thing about people being afraid to legitimize porn....sad news far ya. It already is.

This will only be good if all porn content can be MOVED to .xxx; otherwise, it doesn't effin matter.

That being said; it would make my life a shit-ton easier. I approve. Pedobear does not.

What's to stop the FTC from fining any pornographic website a ludicrous amount for not moving their domain to .xxx? But otherwise, yea I agree with you.

You will find most porn sites go out of their way to comply with anything that's globally adopted to protect children etc.
They're selling smut but they generally try to be good internet citizens.
Most comply with net-nanny and software like that. I would bet a lot of them at least add a .xxx name for appearances.

Oh, I agree. I'm just saying, once .xxx starts to boom, there should be a movement to have all sites with pornographic material moved to that domain extension (I'd keep nude but not provocative modeling off of .xxx, but that's just me. Nothing wrong with the naked human body).

That's what i was wondering about Phil. I have tons of friends who photograph nudes and they're al about art, not porn. Wonder where the line will be drawn I suppose.
