Yes, the entire path of the organization for the next five years has been decided by the first several 2010 draft picks. It's set in stone now, nothing else will be done...no trades, no FA signings, and probably not any more draft picks until 2016.

Get a grip.

Wow I guess you have alot of Faith in just 3 guys that are Buffalo's top offensive prospects. Ennis and Adam i both like and Kassian adds the physical play this team desperately needs but other than that their isn't much in the pipeline unless you call Tropp or Legace the others but that's a far reach.

Maybe Darcy is going to trade for offensive talent with some of our D...

The first three draft choices don't dictate "the system" or whatever that's supposed to mean. They also aren't the end-all be-all of what the Sabres are next season or what they will be in five years. You, like many others, are being ridiculous and acting like the roof is caving in over a draft choice, trade, non-trade, etc.

Wait until the summer ends before making sweeping conclusions about the state of the team.

FWIW, I'll say that as long as Buffalo finds a strong RW that can score and a good two-way D-man that can be a PP QB this summer will be a big success. Two whole players can make a big difference IMO. I know that doesn't jive with most lemmings ready to jump over the cliff - the ones screaming to trade for Ovechkin, sign Kovalchuk or fire Darcy all the way down.

So I don't get my panties in a bunch over every little thing, it's just the crazy armchair GMs without a clue...bitching the whole time with no semblance of an off-season plan for themselves aside from PS2 style trade offers...that get on my nerves.

Okay. Not a bad pick here.

I thought the coverage of the later rounds terrible. They were just interviewing Hall/Seguin (I'm already sick of them) and other 1st/2nd rounders.

Now, instead of showing the last few picks, their showing when Wayne Gretzky got traded to the Kings... Not impressed

solid post ... the top 3 prospects in one draft do not dictate what this team will be in 2010/11 or even 2011/12 for that matter... the bottom line is we needed some depth at D that shoots right... we now have 3 in the system to groom... not a bad deal... you'd guess at least one of the three will pan out... they added some other pieces as well, but again its not like the NFL, you may not see some of these guys for a while....

and I totally agree... 2 players and playing the way they did last year and this team is fierce... injuries and play-off officiating aside... the question is, HOW do we fill those two spots or WHO steps up?

I have no issue's with taking defenseman if they are the best available player on the board all I'm saying is this team is thin on offensive prospects in the system. Darcy is just too conservative of a GM to make the necessary moves to make this team better. Sometimes you have to take a chance but like I have said in many previous posts I don't mind giving up high number picks if all the pieces are in place for a long playoff run. But come on I wasn't really thrilled about Moore or Torres neither were great in the last couple of years what did Darcy think they were going to be savior's. This team had alot of pieces in place and blundered most of it away by waiting to do contracts. Letting Briere and Drury walk and get nothing for them was a huge mistake. One if not both should have been locked up a year before the end of their contract. Then you have Connolly who was in the final year of his contract and a great opportunity to trade him away and then you give him a raise. Are you kidding. No one can question that Connolly is good with the puck and is a solid player but he was invisible in the playoffs and is way too soft and then Darcy tell us fans that we have 2 of the top 20 centers in the league. Holy shit this guy kills me. I'm not a fan of Darcy at all and it seems to me he really has no solid plan for this team. First two lines should be scoring lines, the third line should be a shutdown line and the 4 line should be a checking energy line. He is so in love with his core players that he won't trade any of them for something better.
