Yes, I can't be happier at this stage of the WC. USA and Germany advance without facing each other, France and Italy getting knocked out early. The Netherlands advances (my other team), and with any luck Spain will get knocked out as well tomorrow.

If it doesn't happen tomorrow it can very well happen in the round of 16. Spain (if they advance) well inevitably have to face either Brazil or Portugal (assuming both those teams make it past group stage, which at this point seems like a given)

I think Italy looked at their group and felt it would be a cakewalk. I'm sure the Netherlands did too, but they didn't underestimate their group

They had chances, but this WC showed USA to be lacking in the level of skill required to bury them. They show a lot of determiniation, but make too many mistakes. You can't do that when you also can't put away scoring opportunities.
