i remember that home run so vividly. it was the night after the sabres beat the wings at joe. i watched that home run, and i didnt know what to do other then go outside with my airhorn and scream "the tigers are going to the world series!" for a half an hour before i called everyone on my cell phone.

My high school pitching coach was on the marlins at the same time as pudge. Said he used to make fun of pudge all the time because he's like 90 times more intense and serious than anyone else on the field.

im honestly using the two days to brace myself for disappointment. in 06, in the world series, when they had the lead in game 4, but the errors allowed st louis to win the game, i was like adam morrison playing UCLA. i became a bubbly, stumbly, crying mess before they even lost the lead. we all saw it coming. and we couldnt stop it.

and dont bother pointing out i was crying over a sporting event. the tigers are a very very beloved figure in my life. im a bigger sabre fan, but my family followed the tigers very closely from my great grand parents. my grandmas grave has a tigers hat i put on it.
