My turn to get into the mix. This is what I'm predicting by July 7th.

Paul Martin signed 4 years 22M dollars
Alexi Ponikarovski signed 3 years 9.3 M dollars
Also adding Begin and a Tough guy, or resign McCormick

We shall see how right I am in a week.

I would be happy with those results. Poni gives us size on the RW, Martin gives a great two-way D to pair with Myers.

I can't see the Sabres going over $5M per for a D. Heck, I'll be surprised if they go over $4M per.

And, I don't expect them to sign a top 6 forward as a UFA.

Buffalo has to be active, they have no ther choice but to sign a d-man or go into the season chock full of inexperience on the blueline.

Not sure where you get that from. They've had vet d-men, they just haven't been very good.

I'd rather spend 1.5 mil on Foster than 4.5 mil on Kubina.

I would like Kubina here but cheaper if at all possible. I mean he's a bump to points and he's a good D which we are short of.

He's a big RH shot, good on the PP and average defensively...just like Foster but older and more expensive.

I'd like to see us sign Foster, but I haven't really watched him play so I fear his stats and ability as a PP QB might have been boosted by Stamkos.

What if we signed

Anton Volchinkov
Alex Auld (He does wonders against the Sabres, decent backup)
Alexei Ponikarovsky

Defense, backup goaltending, and a forward. Don't know the cap issues with it though. IF DARCY DECIDES TO DO SOMETHING. Which, please, Darcy, do something.

Ah it feels good to be back. Well Im hoping for Corvo to boost our PP and maybe a lower end defenseman to help with grit.
