There's ALWAYS better options out there. But, you don't know ANYTHING about the situations those other options were in.

You DON'T KNOW THE FACTS, SO STOP ASSUMING THAT DARCY 'COULD' HAVE GOTTEN SOMEONE JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE AVAILABLE.

Leopold is a similar player to Tallinder. Put him next to Myers and you have the same defensive pair from last year with slightly more offensive upside.

Stop mother fucking Darcy for everything he does, good or bad.

That's what I'm thinking. Remember a few years back Tallinder and Lydman were are shutdown defenseman. This group right now doesn't strike fear into too many opposing teams. I really like what Pittsburgh did.

yea, this is not a championship defense....darcy should have some more moves planned fot the D, but i doubt he does

Loods could have been kept if Darcy would have thrown in a 3rd year. He didn't, so he went west.

Uncle Lou brought Hank to NJ because he liked how Hank 'helped Myers'.

Leopold is in, 3 years / unknown $.

I liked what I seen from Leopold when I watched him with the Penguins, up until Sutton destroyed him with a clean open ice hit in the first round. he had his head down and he completely lost whatever intense competitive edge he had to his game when he came back from that injury. It's worth noting that the hit itself pissed the Penguins off something fierce and they pretty much went on to dominate that series from that point on. To me, that speaks to Leopold's character and likability because he was only a Penguin for a very short time.

He's got great wheels and he uses his mobility to bust forechecks before they ever have a chance to develop. His shot is decent, and he usually has good hockey sense in all three zones so I assume that getting caught with his head down against the slow footed Sutton was just a fluke. He is a very good passer, he plays his position reliably, and he appears to have a very professional hard working attitude.

The criticisms I have about his game are that he is not overly physical or mean around his net or along the boards. He has a decent stick for passing lanes, could be better. In one on one situations he is going to have trouble against bigger forwards if he gets caught allowing too big a gap.

Yeah. Darcy is never the first out of the gate on anything...I'll reserve judgment I suppose.
I just liked Hank and big Easy.. and Loods was solid. I suppose he had a payday coming.

Then your too easily annoyed then because this defense doesn't scare anyone. I can see upgrading but lateral movement. Your not going anywhere. Leopold is a 2nd or 3rd Tier free agent. Sorry but I'm sure on this day yeah some players might take less money to play somewhere but money usually talks otherwise. This defense needed an upgrade fair enough. Like I said before many times you have your opinion and I have mine.
