Wow read some of the posts on WGR550.com about Leopold. And no Squanto I didn't write any of them.

Here's my story I don't think the defense was upgraded at all with the lose of Lydman and Tallinder and if no other defensive free agents come here it's going to be Weber, Butler, Sekera or Grag's filling the spot. Sorry but this doesn't scare too many teams.

I would really like to see Weber step up and get a spot because he's a stay at home d-man who's tough which is exactly what this team needs. But who knows.

I think Pittsburgh upgraded their defense big time getting rid of Gonchar who is a great powerplay guy but lets face it he sucks in his own end and getting up their in age.

Will you please learn lose vs. loose vs. loss; there vs. they're vs. their, and your vs. you're before you type again?

Yes I see now...but that still makes Minnesota desperate for a top six forward. Stafford + whatever for Burns, and then sign Stempniak...do it!!!

I would be all for Burns. Stempniak maybe coming back to Buffalo would be a solid pickup if he doesn't demand too much.

Nobody's going to pretend that the d-corps is better. Leopold is simply a replacement for Tallinder, as Weber will be for Lydman. There will be an upgrade if another d-man is brought in, and that could take all summer. Until then we all have to see you type the exact same farking thing. I might leave this site until October to get away from the garbage you and B&Y keep spewing.

Oh, btw, I see B&Y hasn't shown up since the Leopold signing. That sort of blew up his ridiculous rantings that Darcy doesn't do anything ever.

How much did they give him?

Sounds like Hank Tallinder Mark 2. :)

Dollars havent come out yet that I've seen.

Funny, when Tally signed with NJ I thought, "that's great". Then soon after when leopold signed with the Sabres I thought, "that's...great." lol

I'm waiting to hear how much he's getting before committing to really liking or disliking the sign.

Did we re-sign Lydman!?!

That's about what I suspected he would get, I was hoping for less but that's right about what the market value is for him and I'm sure there were a few other teams that were willing to pay that for him.

I don't like the deal right at this moment, I'm definitely not ordering a Leopold jersey online. But I'm curious to see what the team as a whole looks like when this is all over. It might look to be a better fit then

No Lydman is with the Ducks. That's just what he signed for.

awwww man yeah I just checked that out on TSN. Fuuuuu I would have rather have kept Lydman on board for that same contract. :(

On the bright side, Leopold has a little more offensive upside then Lydman or Tally, so in some small way they got better. If he plays Ruff's system up to his potential then he certainly will not be a defensive liability. he might mesh well with a bigger more physical defense partner. if only the Sabres had a guy like that...

Coyotes GM stated he made a low offer for Stempniak but he isnt sure what the market holds for him. so it is possible he could go somewhere else
