From what Darcy said yesterday it sounds like the Defense is set. I don't see him bringing anyone in.

I don't know if this has been talked about and I missed it but... Souray has been placed on waivers.

So does that mean if a team claims him they have to pay the whole contract, or just a portion of it? I never understood how that worked.

I would give picking him up a thought. I remember thinking of how good a defenseman he was with Montreal, before he signed with the Oilers. I don't know if I'd want to pay that whole salary though...

If he were on re-entry waivers, the team that picked him up would only pay half his remaining contract.

However, he's on regular waivers, meaning the team that picks him up has to pay his entire salary.

Well, NYI is about to sign Zenon Konopka, the NHL's PIM and fighting major leader last season. This is a clear call for Darcy to get Brad Winchester on our fourth line :D
