valid point... was just thinking back to that stretch and liked what i remembered... I'd like to see Weber up, because I think he is ready... BUT i'd also like to see another D man added, preferable a top 4 guy, if there are any left... and then I'd move Butler or Sekera...

Butler did have a down year though, didn't he? didn't he play better as a rook than a 2nd year? or am i off the mark with him? who has the most potential out of Sekera and Butler and how good could they be?

Butler can suck a bag of dicks...he's terrible

sophomore slump. it happens. wont be surprised if myers has a fit of it at some point this season, not to the extent buts had it, though.

I like Montador. He's a solid number 6 dman. I would like to see Mckee though in the 5 spot, so get Butler and/or Sekera out of there.

Montador was one of the better defensemen on the team last year, and now we're talking about buying him out?

Geez.

Does anyone remember him and Lydman playing ridiculous minutes in the playoffs? I do.

Tom is right, there's no reason to talk about buying out Montador. It's because his play improved over the course of the season. If his play had regressed, I'd be leading the charge myself.

He wasn't bad but he wasn't one of there better defensemen on the, the guy looked lost out there quite a bit and he sucked in the playoffs.

It looks not bad but I would want to see Rivet shown the door, I like him but he is damaged goods

When Montador plays bad, he plays freakin' terrible and its very noticeable. On the flip side, when his game is on, he is rock solid. Last year about 75-80% of his games were the latter so he deserves to stay.

the only time his play was bad was right before the Olympic break, but the entire team played bad in that stretch.

Montador only had one bad stretch during that western road trip.

The rest of the season, he was solid... especially in the playoffs.

I'm amazed that people are talking about buying him out.

I know it's just Versus, but the announcers were all about Montador during the Boston series, talking about all the smart plays he was making and how solid he was.

Like someone said, I think he's a good 6th defenceman. He seems to have mental relapses at time, but who doesn't???

Montador stays. He was a beast for most of the season and for the playoffs. He had that one bad stretch on the west coast and that one game in Carolina when he lost an edge, which led to the GWG. Besides that, he was really good and played well above expectations. Now, I wouldn't mind snatching McKee to play with him and then bringing Weber up.

Rivet is going to play with two shoulders this season, and I want to see it.

Montador is not a 6 man he's a 4, or a 5 on a good d-corps. He proved he's the type of player Buffalo needs in the playoffs.
