Wait, so I have another question. If nobody claims Souray now, does that mean he has to come back through re-entry waivers and a team can get him half price?

If he doesn't get claimed, he plays for the OKC Barons of the AHL

Seriously? Edmonton would just keep him in the minors? I would think they would put him through re-entry waivers since they seem pretty desperate to get rid of him...

If they keep him in the minors, they don't have to deal with any of his cap hit, which is better than covering half of it, provided he gets claimed on re-entry waivers

As long as he's in the minors, they may have to pay him the $5.4M but it doesn't count against their cap. If they try to bring him back up and have him claimed on re-entry waivers but it doesn't work, his $5.4M counts against their cap again.

Surprising. Either he came around and realized he was over valuing himself or he saw something he really liked in Nashville. Perhaps lots of ice time?

With Arnott leaving for the Devils again, it was definitely the top-line ice time he saw in NSH as attractive.

I figured. Lord knows he wouldn't have gotten here unless Connolly had been moved by now, then we could have used that as a draw. So my question is do we keep Connolly now?

Might have to. But really, he'll leave via FA next off-season.

Ok, if he's staying, how does everyone feel about Brendan Morrison for 3rd line center? Or is he too small for our needs?

42 points last season in 74 games. As a third line center? That speaks to WAS' depth, but I wouldn't mind it at all. He only made $1.5M too. If Darcy did it I'd love it. Already have four centers, though, unless McCormick got moved to wing and Goose played 4th line center.

My plan exactly. Then you have pretty good center depth, and Morrison can easily center the second power play unit.

Konopka to the Islanders was just announced. Frolov to Islanders rumors are now 100% de-bunked.
