German mayo...My four years in Germany opened my eyes. their mayo isn't as gross as ours and it's delicious

All mass produced mayo is nasty.
Do what I do and make your own...it's pretty easy.

(of course, I make my own beer, cheese, wine, bread, vinegar, BBQ sauce etc. so take that with a grain of salt ;) )

`I make a lot of stuff myself too, though I've never made mayo....just never thought to. In Europe though the mayo that you buy in the store just tastes different than what we throw on subs and shit here in the states. Another great thing they have is curry ketchup they like to use on hotdogs and sausage.....fucking addicting.

Yup, big fan of Alton. When I got married it became apparent that my wife couldn't cook. Being the stay at home dad I tend to make something from scratch most nights and second to drawing it's my favorite hobby. Tonight I have butternut squash soup with turkey breasts. Got a lemon pepper marinade and I'll probably grill up some asparagus too. I buy the curry sauce at the Commissary on base just because it's right from Germany and costs like a buck.

You show me an Alton Brown recipe, and I'm mostly going to dig it. Also, Alton Brown is the man.

Melted cheese, preferably cheddar.

Or vinegar and ketchup. I don't like just vinegar...but vinegar then dipped in ketchup is good. Ketchup itself is fine...but vinegar makes it better.

But never melted cheese and ketchup at the same time.

There is nothing better than a heaping pile of fries lightly sprinkled with malt vinegar and dipped in ketchup on a summer day.

Just ketchup...sometimes vinegar if I'm in the mood.

This guy named Jay Brooks is a beer writer in San Francisco...he's got a serious obsession for french fries.
He hasn't updated his blog in a while though
