Why does everyone hate Chris Butler? He had one bad year, a sophomore slump. Sure, it was a horrible one, but remember the season before this when he was our best blueliner with Rivet? I do, and I think that Chris Butler will be back this season. He knew he had an off season, so I doubt he's just sitting at home moping about it saying that he hopes he can turn it around. I bet he's working his ass off this offseason to make himself better so he can improve from last year. I think the Rivet/Butler pairing will be pretty solid again. Put Weber with Sekera to see if they can bring back the magic, and Leopold with Myers and I think we have a damn solid blueline. It may not be the most experienced in the league, but still pretty solid if they can all play to the potential we've seen them with before. Then with GoalieBot 3000 behind them, I think it'll be pretty tough to score a goal on the Sabres this year.
It's because after only one bad year out of two everyone here is ready to throw him under the bus already. Same with Sekera, and Sekera didn't have a terrible year at all.
If our GM was ready to trade away everyone who wasn't a superstar in the first two years then this team would be exactly like Toronto, or worse, the Islanders.
Defense takes awhile to learn, it took Campbell 5 years of playing in the NHL before he became a defender of his capabilities. Green wasn't as offensive like he is now his first year either, it took him a few years to get that scoring touch. There are always exceptions to the rules, but you don't give up on a player in two years, that is not enough time to see how he can play.

No need for violence, just tell her she's got a game misconduct and show her the door.

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.
