Ehh, nothin can compare to the sound of a Harley in my eyes. Exhausts like the short pipes, Thunderheader pipes, and Harley's (ahem NOT street legal in all states) Screamin' Eagle pipes are badASS.

The part that really appeals to me about a moped or something similar is the ability to just ride it around with no license, insurance, registration, etc etc. Park it right outside where i'm going, hop back on and zip home. It would be seriously handy for bouncing around town. Especially raleigh, anywhere inside the beltline is accessible by backroads and non-highway speeds.

That's why I really like scooters, too. Although, the point raised about my weight (275) hampering the vehicles speed is a valid one. I'll get wait a little longer and get a H-D Street Bob or Nightster :D

I also havean Iron 883 in denim black with a single up seat and a set of vance pipes that sounds simply bad ass.... yes only an 883, but cheaper and you can't get a denim black nightster... also look at the new '48... its pretty damn cool.... but your look between 6 and 9 depending on nightster vs. iron... the '48 is new for 2010 and i think its around 10....

Dude I love the Iron 883. I definitely dig the Sportster line the most. If I got one, I'd throw ape-hangers on it right away.

they got mini apes for them... pretty comfy ride... but the seat SUCKS BALLS!!!! the 48 is cool because it has the forward controls... but its a really small tank... i liked the iron the best out of them... well i liked the crossbones and nightrod the best but i didn't fit on them and they were double the price... and i love the nightster, but I didn't like the gloss black... the Iron is great in flat black... and sounds mean with the vance pipes... I have been eyeing up the new fat boy Lo in denim black... its pretty cool, but i have to get some stuff paid off first...lol

Yea, Harleys in flat black are way more boss than gloss. And OMG mini-hangers on a Nightster...be still my beating heart. I love ape-hangers, best handlebars for sure on a motorcycle.

I love the look of a pair on a Nightster, but in my mind's eye, I always envision them as chrome. Just can't get used to black handlebars.

I'd probably get a set of full on 16" ape-hangers for whatever I buy, IF I ever buy a Harley.

chrome bars on a blacked out bike.... come on man... ya cant do that!!! i mean ya can, but... it defeats the purpose ... black it out baby... the new iron's come with a chrome derby cover, and it just looks silly.... even the chrome pipes just don't look right... but to each his own man...lol

Well I am 6'4" and I have monstrous reach. And yea, I know it defeats the purpose which is why I have trouble envisioning it lol. That's why I'd go with something like an 883 Low for my first H-D - cheap and plenty of chrome to go with the hangers.

I fucking hate apes; gimme a 4" lift and a straight bar any day. Get that aggressive 'don't fuck with me' riding stance going on.
