I'll be working right on the lake serving all the boaters coming in for a bite to eat or a drink before heading out on their boat again... But at least there's a beautiful view of the lake from the restaurant so I'll probably be able to see the fireworks tonight.

Went swimming for the first time in like a year today. Fuuun. My eight-year-old brother is still small enough to throw. Eleven-year-old probably would be if he weren't going through that chub stage that both the older boys did from about ages 10-14 (they're beanpoles now, though).

In other news, my jaw fucking hurts. I think it's cause my wisdom teeth are growing in... but jesus christ it's annoying.

the great lakes naval base here in Illinois put on a damn good fireworks display.

Apparently it's been like over 95 degrees here the past couple days, and I didn't even notice. I don't notice when it's ridiculously cold, either, unless my jacket is unzipped and a blast of wind hits me.

Supposed to be 93+ for at least the next week here.

Also, I don't understand how my grandmother is still alive because she hasn't eaten in five weeks and this is what she looked like three years ago (can't tell because of the different angles in that picture, but I have her nose, which I like because none of her kids or other grandkids inherited it lol):

She was thinner than that to begin with when she stopped eating. The only thing she drinks is a couple sips of water a day when she takes meds. The human body is fantastic.

I like how much more prominent my birthmark becomes when I'm tan. Usually it's only a couple shades darker than the rest of my skin, but it tans much darker. It's probably my favorite physical feature that I have. Or something. It's on the back of my right hand, is about the size of a quarter, and looks like a tree.

Pitching for (probably) the last time this season tomorrow, I'm disappointed I didn't get called up, (yet, but I doubt I will) but my Baseball program has more kids trying to get sent down to JV then play Var, I'm not sure what coach is doing up there.
