The difference here is that while we WANT to say it was intentional, they (Vanek and Boychuk) were tangled up along the end boards when he got stepped on...not this:

very true.... but your telling me that a 2 min hooking call was the right one on Boychuck? I agree they were tangled, once Boychuck ax handled him in the knee... and an ax handle to the knee has to be more than a 2 min hook?

I'm not talking about the hook at all. I'm talking about the comparison between Simon stomping on Ruutu to the Boychuk stomping on Vanek.

I think Boychuk should have gotten four minutes - 2 for hooking and 2 for slashing. The slash and hook were designed to take Vanek off the play, not injure the guy. Simon's baseball swing and Tropp's were both malicious attacks on players without the puck.

Im not looking for crazy... i'd be happy with Kaleta and LaLa locked up... Kennedy settled (i know arbitration)... make a decision on Ellis/Mair or Other.... yeah I wouldn't mind Zherdovzuyov (yeah, that guy from the KHL) or a trade sending Stafford packing.... but I'll be pt. on those... lol....

I've been watching a TON of NHL hockey for the past 23 years and one of the rarest things to see is a 5 minute major Slashing call, or even a double minor. You have to break a bone to get that call, axe handle or not if you're not going to the hospital it's only 2.

i guess darcy isnt too happy with kassian. i think hes gonna trade him. kassian, aside from the hit, and the punch, has apparently missed curfew and didnt show up to something. he said he had 3 strikes already against him.
