Haha, I don't think anyone has worn that # since Heinze played. I wonder if it was regular rookie play where they get whats given to them, or if he had the chance to pick it. If so, what would make him take 57?

Exactly...why wouldn't he wear 3 like he did in Kelowna?

Well 5 + 7 = 12. 12 divided by 4 is 3; so he is indirectly wearing 3.... :?

Touche Phil.

His 57 is tribute to his favorite ketchup brand.

I'll let you keep coming up with bullshit one-liners about why he wears 57 because I know I don't have any good ones hah

52, which is aesthetically pleasing and kind of the mirror image of itself, was already taken by Craig Rivet, so Tyler took the next best thing, 57: just like 52, but without the extra line at the bottom of the second number.

....Yeah.

Cons from Myers' debut:

Don't want to shit on your analysis, but in juniors they had to tell him to STOP fighting because he was doing it too much.

The kid knows how to throw.

I remember reading in more than one place, one of them being here (someone doing a little hearsay, but isn't it all), that he didn't do a lot of fighting because coach Huska wanted him on the ice as much as possible.

But regardless, if he's gonna throw down, he needs to throw punches right. Clubbing a dude over the head isn't going to work too well haha

Well, when you a foot taller than everyone else, the clubbing over the head is a viable option. The physics of the situation kinda demand it. :p

Haha, Maybe 57 was one of his favorite players in this league.

anyone have a league list of everyone who has ever won 57 in the NHL?

i was just saying he needed to realize that being a new guy other teams are going to try to rattle him. he needs to show them he isn't going to take their shit. I figured it was the captains job to go over and talk to him about it. he did play well though.
As an example, any team that plays the lions are going to try to rattle Stafford, it's his first year, if his confidence is shaken he is bound to make more mistakes, throw the ball early, or miss a read.
There is a lot riding on myers i just want him to be brought up right seeing as he is playing with tallinder.

I think we all rightly agree with you, Psych.

And I also think Stafford got injured today. Someone got to him a little too fiercly, it sounds like.

There's something less manly about having to duck down to participate in fisticuffs.

Frankly, I have no problem with him screaming 'TYLER MAD...TYLER SMASH' while using the top of his opponents' helmet like a drum kit.
