I kinda wanna start a completely false rumor; and see how long it takes for it to catch fire...

How about, Kovalchuk to the Red Wings...just to really fuck with people...or Kovalchuk to the Blackhawks...that'd be solid

Apparently something besides $$ is holding up the Nabokov-to-KHL deal. his agent says.

Jaro Halak has signed a four-year, $15M deal with the St. Louis Blues. His cap hit is $3.75M. Damn fine job by Doug Armstrong trading for and then signing the young goalie.

Edit: Pierre LeBrun has his salary broken down: 10/11 - $2.75M, 11/12 - $3.5M, 12/13 - $4.25M, and 13/14 - $4.5M

All that just for having a suffocating defense who bailed out his poor puck control for a couple of rounds.

With a division full of Howard, Halak, Rinne, Mason, and (most likely) Niemi, that's friggin scary.

Also, Sergei Kostitsyn signed a one-year $550K deal with the Preds.

Miller, Broduer, Fluery, Rask, and Lundqvuist is pretty good too.

Remember, we have two of the top 3 or 4 goalies in the NHL, and one good, upcoming goalie.

Only one two of those five goaltenders are in the same division, so I don't know what you're getting on about.

NE: Miller, Rask, Elliot, Gustavsson, Price
Atlantic: Lundqvist, Fleury, NYI??, Brodeur, Leighton

The only one to worry about in our division is Rask, but the East has better goal-tending, I agree.

The Eastern CONFERENCE may have better goaltending, but the best DIVISION re: goaltending is the Central division
